Have you contacted Hondata about this?
Yes. On their forums and I've mentioned it to Doug before. It's almost like they look at the two tunes they came out with 2 years ago for my platform and said "good enough". My point has been "Hey Hondata don't look over your shoulder but you've got a competitor that constantly updates". I say that because of my customer service background. I'm on Hondata's side but if they don't listen to customer feedback, well, that's not good.

If you read this thread, 99% of what I've posted has been positive. Like free advertising for Flashpro. I just wish Hondata would look into some of the negatives and work on it. I get that CTR development is their latest thing but people who spent 500-700 bucks for Flashpros for their 1.5's shouldn't be forgotten either.

Driving to work today with light traffic and mostly keeping it under 70mph, I got 42mpg. Driving home was another story. Let's just say I drove "spiritedly" and at one point had a driver in a V6 Altima kind of scratching his head in embarrassment. Going home I only got 26.5mpg but with a lot of smiles. This base +6 is very good.

I regularly see 42mpg on my daily commute on the +9 map. Rarely touching boost helps fuel economy a great deal. I give it the occasional poke.

I drive mostly city (real estate business) and have been running the +6 for a month now and seeing 29.5. On days I have highway driving (about 20% of the time) I see 34.
Now I'm eyeing the PRL CAI and downpipe :)

This tune continues to impress me. I'm averaging 40 mpg this tankful which is amazing. I love the fact that this feels like 2 different cars. You've got the high mpg, part throttle cruising that gets up to speed noticeably quicker than stock. And you have the pedal to the metal passing power that makes the stock tune seem kind of slow. Best $500 you can spend on a Civic.

Todays adventure .. An Elantra thought he could keep up. Tailgating me at 68mph. So I gave it some gas and at 107mph he was a tiny speck behind me. I let up on the gas and lol'ed.

No I wasn't racing, just gave it a bit of gas for a few seconds. Even driving aggressively I still got 35mpg.

yeah for $490 you really can't go wrong with the CARB FlashPro. No real downside to MPG if you drive without your foot to the floor, and if you do....well, be prepared for maximum smiles!
No doubt. The Elantra thought he could keep up and tried. But his car accelerated like a tricycle compared to the +6 Hondata tune.;)

If any of you are on the fence about a tune consider the Carb Flashpro and get it from ProCivic. They rock.

im still on the fence about tuning an engine that has only been around for a few years, and certainly dont want to lose my warranty by messing something up for just a little more pickup. i will continue to follow your thread to see if you run into any issues. My SI with a +6 PSI tune would most definitely be a lot of fun to drive but at what cost.

I flashed the +6 map at 3000 miles and the +9 map at 7000 miles. Over 11000 miles on my 2017 SI sedan. Otherwise stock. No issues encountered. I use the sport with scramble style maps. When my kids are in the car mostly in normal. Alone or with wife only I use sport.

No clutch slippage on the 9psi?

Totally understandable. I went back and forth for many months researching and deciding on whether or not to do a tune. Ultimately, I decided on Hondata and the CARB version because it fit my needs. I'm keeping the engine stock and I wanted a simple set and forget setup. But I still can up the boost and torque limit if I want to. For now though, I'm sticking to the conservative +6 tune.

As far as you talking about risking the engine warranty for "just a little more pickup"...

It's way beyond that. This isn't like adding an intake where you aren't sure if it's really doing anything or just adding sound. My butt dyno says this car pulls like a V6 above 3500rpm. Doug once called the acceleration "exhilarating" and it really is.

OK... most of the time I drive conservative. But, I do have my fun here and there. I don't launch it or do standing start pedal to the metal 0-60 runs. Most of my fun comes from passing cars on the highway. I also passed a semi one day on a single lane road going up a very steep hill. I had a small window to do it too. And I never could have done it with my stock setup. Tuned, it was a piece of cake.

Zero. But I'm not launching the car on any regular type of basis. Make power in gear, not between gears. Hell I mostly drive with my kids in the back so that mostly keeps me out of boost.
