Just installed the +6 in my EXT MT. Haven't done much testing yet, but each gear seems more responsive and just feels like it was tuned better for the car. Kinda surprised that you have to get something like a FP to make your engine run better compared to factory. I did somewhat mash down on the peddle between 2nd and 3rd gear and I can definitely feel the increased power. However, I can already tell that better tires are needed for traction. Will have to see what it can really do so that I too can have that big grin on my face.

Hi,

Just got my 2018 Civic Sports Hatch CVT, Im just looking to get it boosted with +6, I know nothing about this and was just looking for a shop that will do it for me, kinda having hard time googling it. Does anybody here know a place in Queens NY?

Sorry, I do not. If you're talking about adding +6 with a Flash Pro, then you should just order and do it yourself. Very easy to install and you will probably spend less for not having a shop do it for you.

Thank you for the response, was that all I need? To buy the flashpro and follow the installation guide? I dont have any knowledge of tuning cars thats why Im a bit concerned. But I can definitely do follow instructions if thats the only thing I need to do. If for example I managed to do a +6, are there any other upgrade necessary to work with that +6 boost? Like exhaust, shocks etc?

Nope. Mine is all stock except for a K & N mesh filter, but there is no need to upgrade anything. I do not have any knowledge of tuning either, but the FP is simple to follow and easy to install. I just did mine lastnight.

Alright, thanks a lot! Would probably just buy one and try.

You're welcome. You can always come back and ask. Everyone here seems to be very helpful. There really is not much too it if your just wanting the base + 6 map with no mods.

Basically just want more power, and I thought of +6only to be safe with the stock motor?

Ive read about Hondata, Ktuner and Vit some are more expensive, theres custom tune etc.

But I don't want to do mods in the motor internally, I can probably do all other mods to upgrade to get the highest boost but safe.

Any thoughts on this?

I'm not out to win any drag races, but just wanted better throttle response and more power gains. This +6 certainly satisfies that need for me from what I can tell from a quick test I did this morning, but didn't really put the pedal to the metal with this tune as of yet. I don't plan on adding mods to my car except better tires and strut bar. Very happy with the FP investment.

I see, so a downpipe, and any other intake or exhaust upgrade does not add any to performance?

Disagree. Some Intakes will increase power and/or improve throttle response, the important part being that the MAF readings are not being skewed due to improper placement of the sensor. The only truly "well regarded" option is the PRL Cobra CAI. A downpipe or a downpipe+frontpipe will add to performance as it essentially is less restrictive than the stock setup. Going with a high flow cat will offer less improvement than eliminating the cat entirely. Eliminating the cat will require either disabling O2 sensor codes, or using a defouler.

For a stock 2018 hatch civic cvt, planning on buying hondata fp to run with +6, question is what would these PRL CAI and down pipe high flow CAT add on top of the boost from the FlashPro? Whats the figure like?

Call PRL and ask. I am sure they can tell you what to expect with just the +6 flash vs adding the CAI vs adding the CAI+DP+FP vs adding a protune on top of that....and I imagine that discussion would also lead to them recommending an intercooler upgrade somewhere earlier.

I emailed them, let's see if they respond. I will definitely get a FlashPro and tune it to +6 and then see other options from there to improve performance from intakes and exhaust.

If you read the first post in the thread it will give you a rough idea of the process. I also wrote a guide for installing it if you only have a desktop:
https://www.civicx.com/threads/flashing-a-hondata-tune-with-a-desktop-a-guide.24593/

Once you get the hang of it, the install is quite easy. If you're running a basically stock setup the base tunes are all you need. A pro tuner can get more out of it, of course, but it will cost some extra $$$.
