I would definitely try clearing the code and see if it comes back immediately, and make sure the battery is at full charge.
This is a longshot, but it’s worth checking any connectors that were disconnected again. At least one member here had disconnected something, reconnected it, then had a bunch of problems. When he went back over everything, he found one of the pins bent even though the connector went back together. So I think it’s worth having your friend go through anything he unplugged, and disconnecting those plugs again to have a closer look.
