Try a locally based cooperative that pays YOU back if what they take in exceeds their costs in a given year.

Well, when it comes to renewal time, a good independent agent will help make sure you’re not blindsided by increasing rates. Mine has been great about this and providing alternative options. He also knows which agencies are good to work with when it comes to claims and which aren’t. They really have good vision to all the ins and outs of each insurer, including “list” pricing versus what people are being charged.

Unfortunately Geico has chosen to raise a long time customer, with almost 15 years with NO accident, NO Tickets, No Change to mileage a year, NO Change to credit, NO Change of address, NOTHING!!! Over $800 a year for the same insurance coverage! Just found out today. When asked, they told me it was across the board for anyone with the same car. 2023 FL5. Absolute, BS. I paid less per year for a brand new Porsche 997 twin turbo. Please don’t tell me it’s just inflation! ! A few bucks I understand, but over $800 a year ? BS. Will be searching for new insurance next week. A absolute travesty for someone with a Souped up Civic. No offense. It’s still only a Honda. ! You would think I’m driving some kind of Super Car ?
Regards
let me make sure I’m understanding, so your saying they are trying to charge you $800 for 12 months? So about $66 dollars per month?

or do you mean $800 for 6 Months?

Over $800 MORE then I’m paying now a Year. I was Paying $117 a month for full coverage with $250 Deductible Comp and $500 Deductible collision. Now at the renewal they want $187 a month approximately for the same coverage! That’s with all my discounts!
I was paying $87 a month for my new 22 SI, when I took delivery of the Type R January 3rd. So bottom line $100 more a month for the Type R
Best

Damn! Yeah thats way too high. I’ve had an accident 4.5 years ago, and I’ve had like 3 or 4 tickets since and my fl5 insurance the last 6 months was 144 a month. My next 6 month policy period that starts next month and it’s going up to $150 a month.

I would deff check around, which is what I’m thinking about doing. My dad went with mercury recently and got pretty dang cheap rates.

I too switched from geico to progressive for my FK8 and other vehicles and it went down tremendously. Definitely give them a shot.

Just switched to progressive today. Went back down to $93 a month for the same coverage I have always had. Still can’t believe Geico would want to lose a good customer with nothing changing. A few bucks a year ? I understand, but over $800 more a year is ridiculous.
thanks for the input.
regards

Interesting I have Geico but I usually pay in full so I'm now wondering what will happen when it comes time to renew
switched to Progressive today. Same limits I had for years. Back down to $93 a month for full coverage with $250 Comp and $500 collision.

My insurance through State Farm is going up $24 per month in July on just the FL5. I think the insurance companies wised up to the cost of fixing these cars after a few accidents. It's not just a normal Civic...
I've had state farm for a few years now -

Had a 2019 M2C that was costing about $600 every 6 months. Went to a Model 3 and was still around $600 every 6 months. Changed over to a 2023 Integra Aspect 6MT and it went up to ~$700 every 6 months...Changing over to a 2023 FL5 and now they are quoting me $820 every 6 months and this is with the discounts applied for homeowner and umbrella coverage and 0 accidents on record ever.

I put my info and vin along with same coverages for the car at least onto progressive and its showing $370 every 6 months. About to call them up to confirm everything is up to snuff and probably going to make the change.

I shopped around on allstate and geico as well and they were all around the ~$800 range (but without adding any homeowners)
