Selling a modified OEM exhaust, original muffler section is included. This was a prototype for an exhaust design I was working on. I was specifically testing the Reinhard dual type muffler (02SRI) on this design. You can find details on this muffler here. Its a 1-to-2 split with muffled tips which is pretty unique. The goal was to eventualy create a axle back replacement for the OEM muffler that you could clamp on but I ran out of time and funds to keep going on this project. This was only used for testing so only has a few miles on it. If anyone wants to keep working on this project, I can provide information. I also have a design for a tuneable quarter-wave resonator that could be added as an additional feature.
Street driving the recorded dB in the cabin would peak at 80-85dB. Highway driving was hard for me to accurately meter but id imagine its around 95dB depending on rpm. Peak frequency is between 110-180 Hz. Depending on what frequency you prefer the quarter-wave resoonator could be added to tune it.
All the parts used to fabricate the hangers and supports are 304 SS. Flange is coated steel.
Verdict on the design? It sounds pretty good considering it was just an preliminary design. Its not very loud and doesn't really create any weird or unpleasent sounds. Its not very bassy at the top end but there is a small band of low frequency that could be tuned out with a resonator. On the plus side you save a bit of weight when compared to the OEM. The muffled sections of the exhaust could be removed from the tips and the material could be replaced or removed but I didn't get to testing that.
Looking for $600 OBO picked up in the 626 area.
Thanks
