I went out to take another look, what about installing in this area?

seems a piece of flat plastic that I might be able to cut into.

though I have no idea what's behind it, and I rather not cut, but I might not have a better choice...

Not much room to play with behind those areas because of the intercooler end tanks. This post has some PICs that you can reference with the bumper removed.

Thank you

So I looked yet again...

That empty area on the sides of the intercooler indeed is in front of the end tanks, but the end tanks are flush with the intercooler (if anything they radius backwards), while the empty area I highlighted, is four inches forward of the intercooler.

Put it another way, the empty area is right behind the plastic diamond grill, while the intercooler (and its end tanks) are inset four inches back (between the two arrowhead tips)

Watching the video below, I noticed that the brake ducts, on the outside of the intercooler and its end tanks are in front of the intercooler, and there is an empty space to the inside of the air ducts, where the guy in the video has his hand (i.e. behind his knuckles)

Are you considering fog lights where the lens would be recessed behind the plastic diamond grill or cutting the grill to have the lens in the front?

I would place the fog lights behind the diamond grill, and cut the flat plastic piece to fit the light.

Note, that I have never taken the bumper off, and this is all just theory, and me thinking out loud.

If the Spoon lip route was something you wanted to look into without dropping the heavy price tag, "https://spec-ring.com/products/hond...-style-carbon-fiber-front-bumper-lip-splitter" this link leads to a replica that is much cheaper lol. I personally was already looking at this lip before thinking about fog lights so this will probably be the route I take now that I see it is an option.

Thanks, but still expensive. and it seems that fog lights so low might be too exposed to rocks etc. I also wonder if I can get powerful enough fog lights in such a small strip.

I need fairly bright and focused fog lights to break through the heavy fog. not just for looks.

@zumbooruk the area you've been thinking about for fogs, I have as well had the thought. Its a perfect area for a reasonable sized, 'vintage' round light that feels like an EM1/DC integra accessory fog light.

Once a spare diamond grille pops up for a reasonable price, might be time for me to put thoughts to action and cut it to fit lights. Or a business opportunity for someone to 3D print a custom 'foglight grille'?

Sorry, got a bit wordy with typing out the visions in my head
