Hello, just picked up my brand new 2025 FL5 on Friday.
A mod I carried over from my previous daily was the Comma3x from Comma AI.

Here's a video from my commute of the system running on our cars.

For those who don't know, there are open-sourced software such as OpenPilot that can give your car enhanced autopilot capabilities. The level of enhancement depends on the OEM hardware of the vehicle, OEM software limitation of the vehicle, and what the open-source community has figured out with that platform.

The FL5 has had development the last few months, but the information was difficult to piece together so I'm just sharing it here for future reference.

I'm using SunnyPilot
Branch: staging-c3-new (As of August 18, 2025)
Installation URL: https://staging-c3-new.sunnypilot.ai
Vehicle Model: Civic Hatchback 2021-2024

The features I take advantage of:
Better lane centering (OEM lane centering is decent)
No more warning from the car to touch the steering wheel
One-tap signal to change lanes
Notification chime when the red-light in front of you turns green.

For the FL5, the OEM adaptive cruise control is used.

Extremely easy to install
Tap into the OEM camera ECU with included harness (Honda Bosch B) above the rear view mirror
Enter the installation URL
Select the vehicle model

I understand that this type of car isn't the normal use-case for a mod like this, but for me it completely changed how I commute.
I'm in no way affiliated with the company, just sharing one of my favorite mods

Interesting idea. Unsure it’s worth the extra costs though

I agree. The lane centering on the FL5 is already decent.
This is much more helpful on vehicles with only rudimentary lane departure assist, basically ping-ponging the car between the road lines.

Nevertheless, still one of my favorite mods I've done on any car and want to share that our platform is supported. Also many people here probably have a daily that isn't the CTR, so this system could still be helpful!

The FL5 is a driver's car. I recommend buying something else or taking a Waymo if you're not fully driving. And even Wayno's, with a ton more sensors than the FL5, crash.

The above is my perspective as a cyclist, motorcyclist, pedestrian, and driver, also knowing a Waymo killed a pedestrian in AZ.

This won't affect the weekend fun stuff, just helps with the commuting.
I'd like to point out this isn't a full self-driving system. On this platform it is really just builds on top of what the car already comes with. The software also uses a driver-facing camera to make sure you're paying attention and will disengage if you're not.

Maybe I'm just old, or like driving too much, but I can't imagine using something like this.
As it is I turn off all the assists that come on the stock FL5.
Obviously, many people like and use the factory assists or even things like this. I'm not one of those people.

This would be great for long trips at night to/from the track. The VIR trip to the NE is kinda long

I'd probably just buy a Tesla as my daily before I did this in the FL5

Just remember what you have to do if the autopilot deflates
