Well the wait isn't over yet. Sales guy found front bumper damage and a piece of the grille broken in transit. They're working with Honda on next steps but this is frustrating after all the anticipation.

That does suck and I'm surprised this is the first post about this type of thing given all the transportation days / cars sitting. Hopefully they get it resolved soon so you're driving it off the lot!

I think others have mentioned issues with paint from sitting in the elements for so long. This front bumper looks like it was pinned against something that gradually scraped the paint off. Don't really know what Honda's process is for handling things like this but I'm hoping it's only until next weekend.

Finally folks!! my BB type r has shown up at the dealership today morning - Richmond, IN. I am planning to get it on Saturday since i am traveling this week. Can't to get my hands on it!! So guys in IN & OH, i think cars are showing up after close to a month delay.

Congrats! Love to see another one hit our region (I'm in Dayton).

After you get the car home, if you have any tips to share on how you managed to get it at this dealership, I'm all ears!

I've been in communication with that dealership since last July and my salesperson has been assuring me that I'm 1st on the list. Looks like you were talking to the right person! For their 2nd car they get in (1 yr from now??), I'd love to work with the sales person you did as the woman I've been working with has left much to be desired.

Now I think it will take 4+ weeks to fix this as they would need to order paint from Honda Japan and fix all the marks and repaint it. I dont think paint will be readily available for this new car

Boost blue is a US color as well

They have to have same paint ordered by vin otherwise paint won't match up

Is walking away from the car something you would consider? I'd personally would walk away from it, even if it meant waiting 6 more months.

Believe it or not... about 70% cars get damaged in transit and gets repaired. His dealership was nice to let him know about it. Its very common

Heads up to any Georgia or Southeast people! Sons Honda has a black Type R coming in. Their last one sold for $5k ADM plus $1145 in accessories. Not sure if they're selling this one for the same price or not, but DM me if you want me to put you in contact with the sales guy.

Edit: Called them back and the seller misspoke, they have a black Si coming in. Their sales guy said he'd get in touch the moment they have another on in the system, so if you wanna get on his radar for that still feel free to DM. Sorry the mixup!

Not being rude but how do you know this? Where are you getting the 70% number from exactly?

South Florida got a bunch of VINs today. My dealer got 2 actually. Only Florida dealer to receive 2 without having an influencer get involved.

Correct, it’s happening in Honda’s biggest market for the US (Cali and Florida being the 2 biggest in the US). Pretty much this wave is going back to the first round dealers. This is the point where quite a few dealers will no longer receive any until the next model year.

These next batches are for dealers with the highest civic and FK8 turnover rate. If your dealer got a FK8 LE, they are guaranteed to receive multiple FL5s.
