Looks like there is a drop in K&N filter available for the FL5. Going to install this tomorrow to see how much $$ I wasted
K&N part# 33-2454 costs about $64.95 MSRP. But can be found for around 45$

I put one in my Porsche 996 and 997. Didn’t do a thing but for $60 bucks thought I would give it a try. Spent $7 or $8 K on a different Italian exhaust on them. Was a waste of money when I sold them. Take it for what it’s worth! Nothing. Lol

Drop in made a noticeable difference on my fk8…slightly better throttle response and a bit more intake noise. Problem was that I drove my friends with the PRL intake and had to have that noise instead…

OK... Installed the K&N drop in earlier in the day and put a few miles on the car... There is a noticeable difference in intake induction noise :drive:and as for anything else the midrange seems a smidgen better "if" anything.

Overall super easy to change out and it's nice to have some Turbo Inductions sounds now:thumbsup: So I would have to say for less than $50 spent... it's worth it to me .. for the time being.. that is until PRL makes there Intake for the FL5. I'll post up in a week or so to see if the gas mileage has increased with the drop in Filter.

How much is an oem filter? You are at least saving a little in the long run only having to clean this filter rather than replace it. So even if the gains based on the “butt dyno” are minimal, it could be worth it ?

So is the fl5 filter different than the fk8 filter?

Just bought mine today at autozone and can confirm fitment. I will say that throttle response is a tad better, feels like it revs a little better. Also oddly enough the induction noise is up a few notches.

Which Filter did you buy, since they don’t make one yet for the FL5 I thought ? Thank You.

I purchased the k and n filter past number 33-2454 that’s posted on the first picture here on this thread. It works and fits hence why I commented and stated that I confirmed fitment.
