Even Honda agrees crystal black is secretly the best, as evidenced by the Type R key fob

Is that even real? This is what came with the 2025 I purchased.
I don’t see the spot for the physical key, that inserts behind the driver door handle, to clip into that gizmo you posted

I’m at about 400 miles now, I briefly burned the clutch backing up on a steep incline drive way but otherwise she is fine now. No clutch slipping

The stick is starting to shift smoother with less notch, I expect this to continue breaking in more

I’ve rung her out a few times to around 6k rpm but never full throttle

Mostly I keep driving 10 mph under the limit, shift around 3500-4000 rpm, cruise around 2500 or 3k rpm

But I engine brake a lot and coast in neutral, then shift again, soft and easy, keeping her rung out through the full rpm band up to 4500 without full throttle

I’m not going full throttle or redline until I hit 600 on the odo

She has some dust and things now but still looking very clean after one week. I have not driven her in the rain.

I’m going to wait another week to wash her probably, but I don’t want too much build up that I have to get off

Once I break her in at 600 I’m going to drop back down to my avg of 4,000 miles driven per year.

It’s just so difficult to drive this car during the break in period and keep it easy easy easy on everything

She’s begging me to do more and I’m like, we gotta wait a few more miles honey

I spend my life training and practicing martial arts but also I love the Type R

I come alive behind the wheel and slice it up

Thank you.
Buy yourself the Acuity adjustable gear shift. Then throw the plastic Honda assembly in the closet. The Acuity is a GAME CHANGER when it comes to driving experience.

So after all said and done, it looks like I got:

Window tint
Lo jack
Standard / basic wheel locks
PPF on all door sills, all door handle cups, both mirrors, and extra PPF on the lower corner of both rear door panels
4 all weather mats
1 trunk tray

+TTL, doc fees, etc., 54k OTD with 5 miles on the odo, and with crystal black being harder to find compared to champion white/ boost blue / sonic gray…

Looks like I paid roughly 48.5k for the Type R, about 1500 over MSRP new?
