Car wash is especially bad for ceramic coat I think. You should be using certain type of soap for it, so my guess is the car wash soap will shorten the lifespan of your ceramic coat. Again, I am no expert, I could be wrong.

I only did ppf on mine.

I think so too, but unfortunately I don’t have time to clean it meticulously and that’s the reason I opted for ceramic coat. Faster to wash. Lol

Btw @katch922 I just got a response from the dealership regarding the condensed taillights and this is their response.

What’s the update on your side?

I’m gonna keep an eye out on it, we should have a few rainy days coming up. So far nothing changed on my end, just waiting for light to come in.

Do you have pics? Mind sharing?

Hey all, got a bit of an odd issue. My driveway is a bit of a hill, and I’m not having much of a ground clearance. Still no damage to car, well only to that plastic part under the front of the car that I believe is designed to touch first to let you know it’s getting close… any suggestions? I know this might be a bit complicated with active suspension. Can you like raise the car ground clearance 0.5 to 1in max? I don’t want to spend 4K on suspension kits, do I have other options?

I've dealt with a similar situation at a previous home. It would be helpful to show or state where you are scraping and post pics of the driveway/area on the driveway where you scrape.

I can take some pics tomorrow of what’s actually being damaged, but regardless I think it’d be very nice to raise it a bit. This is 4.8 ground clearance, golf r was 5.4. I never had issue with the Golf R.

Yes that does help, but not during some winter days. Lots of snow on both sides. It is a bit of a freak snow storm, but there will be more in the future.

in the pic I wanted to see worst case scenario, hence I went straight down.

just added pic.
Thanks. Are you contending with a rolled curb as well or does the driveway terminate at the street seamlessly?

Hey @katch922, How about upgrade your tires to 275/35/19? It looks good and will raise your front a little bit + will give a look that it is lowered as it closes the wheel gap.

“Decided to give APEX VS-5RS 19x9.5 +45 (Motorsports Gold) with 275/35/19 a try.

No rubs whatsoever on this setup. the car is not lowered yet. “

Here’s a pic for reference:

Those look really nice! But I just recently bought the rims and tires for winters, too bad I didn’t think about it before. Wonder if the OEM 19s will do better. I am currently using 18s 255/35 I think!?
