Thinking out loud: Would you do a 1 for 1 swap CTR for ITS in colour of your choice? New for New. I think long term the CTR would hold its value better but also would require a second car for winter IMO. Tough choice, still salty about missing out on the legendary CW colour although blessed I got one at all.
Personally, I wouldn't. I wanted the Type R, didn't really matter the colour. If I switched it up and went with the ITS instead, it'd have to be ABP or PWP to even consider it. I just like the Type R looks more, than the ITS though looks more aggressive between the two.

You have a Rallye Red one no? That's considered a Honda heritage colour in my opinion.

The wait is annoying. As it’s been said here numerous times, it’s worth the wait. Keep on your dealership for timelines. May I ask which dealership?
Surrey Honda. I did visit them a couple weeks ago. Both the GSM and SM were very nice and they said themselves wish Honda Canada would allocate the Canadian market more but they are not sure when the next allotment will arrive.

There's a few guys that received their cars from Surrey Honda, @Shichi I believe got his there. He might be able to give you more insight on how the dealership allocation works there. Assuming you're on the list, have they confirmed there's one with your name on it?

Yessir I have RR which does look great just takes some time getting used to. Kicker is I can get into ABP ITS (my number 1 choice) for a direct swap.

The DE5 is great, I had one in PWP, but the draw of the FL5 always remained as that is what I truly wanted. RR is my number one choice but tough to choose colours. I have an SGP en route.

I feel like you will miss the R, both drive incredibly well and damn near identical so depends on what’s more important to you.

Cheers for the input, this is definitely a head vs. heart situation.

Well we might be moving to Australia in October and I’m looking into it, but seems like I wont be able to import a LHD vehicle.
You definitely won't be able to import it but depending how long you're planning to stay brand new Australian spec FL5s are readily available. We're apparently even getting boost blue later this year!

I dont mind at all getting one in Australia, guess I will contact all dealerships in Melbourne to get on a wait list!?
All stock is owned by Honda Australia and dealers are just agents. So while they won't transport a car from Perth to Sydney, there should be enough stock in larger east coast cities like Melbourne and Sydney. I believe current wait times are in weeks, not months. They actually had an oversupply at one stage. Of course thing might change come October but I can't see you'll have a problem getting one fairly quickly.

Also, I will never pay above MSRP, hopefully thats how it works there too.
We only have MSRP as you are buying from Honda Australia, not the dealer. Fixed price $AUD74100 driveaway.

are all cars this expensive in Australia?
Yep pretty much everything has an Australia Tax on it. Housing is insanely expensive too. You'll find some exceptions but generally we're a relatively affluent, but small, captive audience who historically have paid overs for most things.

I really hope I am wrong, but heck might have to sell my 2024 CTR end of year… very upset, lets hope there is a way to import, but if not I will keep yall posted. Not sure how much I’d be asking, but probably similar to what Clutch would offer for it.
Aus have A LOT of FL5 and brand new one selling UNDER MSRP as well.
And they will have boost blue color FL5 in 2025!

Thanks again btw, guess in the next 2 to 3 months once it is confirmed the move, I will put my car up for sale in Nova Scotia. Lets hope i can get an allocation in Melbourne.

Cheers!
You can easily get one, don’t worry!
you can join fb group FL5 Aus, “Kelvin Goo” have a lot of info from Honda Aus and I’m sure he can get you one!

Anyone else notice that a lot of CDN spec FL5’s have sold recently? Noticed that the number of listings have dropped by 8 in the last 7-14 days.

I've noticed the amount Canada wide has changed from 21 to 17 on AutoTrader. A few of them are just overpriced display units (looking at you Midland Honda in Ontario and Wheaten/Alberta Honda in Edmonton) with no mileage. The other all have varying mileage on them. I'd wait till the middle of spring/beginning of summer for another push of new units.

Did you find out where you are on the list at your dealership?

5 on the list with my dealership.
15 are showing on AutoTrader (2 sold units are included in this list, it’s really 13).

I would imagine you’re close, assuming your dealership is one of the larger ones in the region.
