They've definitely shaken up the EV market and put downwards pressure on those prices. But for ICE we're still seeing large increases at the bottom of the market, even for Chinese brands like MG.

MG jacked up the price of their MG3 when the new model landed last year. MG are still the cheapest in the ICE space but there is no sign that any of the Korean/Japanese brands are going to try to compete by limiting price increases.

I have a base model 2019 Kia Cerato that I bought for $20500 brand new. The last of them before the new K4 were up to $32000 and the new K4 is going to be $35000. Most other Japanese/Korean brands have had similar increases.
Ya the sub 20k new car market is long gone here as well

In case anyone is in the market, Midland Honda has two R' for 87k & 93k. Act fast the dealership has mouths and kids to feed!

Dropped by my dealer a few days ago. I was 4th to get mine last August, and they are now only expecting one more for 2025. Five in total for biggest Western Canada dealer (so they say). Originally they were told like 9 or 10 and are now only getting 5. Why so secretive Honda? Dealerships don't have a hot idea what's going on either.

I think we're nearing the end of allocations for us in Canada. That rumor from Summer 2022 was seemingly spot on. As for dealerships.... well, this go around taught me most really don't know anything and it was more an opportunity to exploit enthusiasts than anything. No question there are some decent dealerships but others, like my experience at Thornhill Honda, was absolute trash and I'd never recommend them to anyone for any reason.

My question to Honda would be why we got so little in the way of allocations? Was the arrival of the Integra Type S the reason

That post that went up, last month I think, had us with about 40 more CTRs for the rest of this year.

EDIT: This post detailed the allocations as of January

This is bittersweet as there are people who aren't going to get one, but on the flip side, good for those of us who were fortunate enough to snag one in terms of scarcity. What frustrates me the most are the dealers who worked around Honda's MSRP selling rules and screwed over many people. I don't understand how Honda would allow that. Originally I heard from a couple of dealers that there was going to be a lottery system, similar to the LE yellow model for these cars. I think that would have been wise.

Yet a tiny dealer here in cottage county gets 2 within the past 5 months and are trying to sell them for $90K

The dealers won the lottery or so it seems.

They ruined the whole process. It seemed common cars were either flipped by buyers or the dealerships themselves, sold to friends and family first, or the mandatory add ons. The fact Midland Honda in Ontario has a CW CTR for almost 100K and another for 90K is crazy.

Anyone have an idea when the last 40 cars will be arriving? May 2025?

I know of a few that trickled in to dealerships here in Ontario, but nothing like the larger batches we got around winter last year. Looks like the majority will be coming through the latter half of the year.

Have you been waiting the whole time?

I have been waiting for almost 3 years and have been noticed 5 used ones from AutoTrader have sold in the last 10 days.
I think that 546 number is true.

The wait is annoying. As it’s been said here numerous times, it’s worth the wait. Keep on your dealership for timelines. May I ask which dealership?

Thinking out loud: Would you do a 1 for 1 swap CTR for ITS in colour of your choice? New for New. I think long term the CTR would hold its value better but also would require a second car for winter IMO. Tough choice, still salty about missing out on the legendary CW colour although blessed I got one at all.
