Ya the sub 20k new car market is long gone here as wellThey've definitely shaken up the EV market and put downwards pressure on those prices. But for ICE we're still seeing large increases at the bottom of the market, even for Chinese brands like MG.
MG jacked up the price of their MG3 when the new model landed last year. MG are still the cheapest in the ICE space but there is no sign that any of the Korean/Japanese brands are going to try to compete by limiting price increases.
I have a base model 2019 Kia Cerato that I bought for $20500 brand new. The last of them before the new K4 were up to $32000 and the new K4 is going to be $35000. Most other Japanese/Korean brands have had similar increases.
