So I haven’t posted here in a minute but I just renewed my insurance on my 23 FL5 and they offered me the replacement insurance and I opted out as usual because it’s a scam …. However the value he said it was covered for was 67k. It Has 19,000km on it.

Interesting to me because I recently went to a local Audi dealership and was curious as to what they would offer me for a trade and they offered me $51000…..that shit don’t ad up. And if I read dealerships are trying to grab $76k…..get bent.

edit. I paid $69k out the door with all the typical forced add ons and tax.

For sure, they want to make money off your car. The car is still going for 65-70K and in some cases up to 80K depending on mileage. Looking at AutoTrader, you see the range in price.

It's been a while since you've been on here, you done any mods since you got it?

Any update? I'm also wondering if anyone in Canada got a Type R at MSRP.
Lots of people have got their cars at MSRP in Canada. I personally know 2 owners and I’m still waitin for mine to arrive. My dealer finally confirmed it’s coming but won’t be here until summer. I’ll know colour in a month and I’ve been so patient because my dealership assured me msrp. I know they are actually getting 1 more, But they have a waiting list of deposits behind me ?‍♂
I’m lucky (knocks on wood)I worked there years ago and also helps that I’m personal friends with manager but I know owners all across Canada who paid msrp. And yes we all have heard the horror stories and crazy markups but in reality if this is the last platform for the combustion R and Limited numbers in Canada this car will hold its value for years to come. I bought my 17 from same dealership for msrp and just sold it for 1k more than I paid for it back to stock 95%. These cars if maintained will hold their value especially in Canada??
Be patient if you truly want one it will come to you ?As silly as that sounds just let it be. Keep putting feelers out connect with anyone you can but don’t go crazy over it. Believe it will happen even if not new you will get one almost new at a reasonable market price✊? I feel your pain most of us have. I almost bought one for 65 last year but my dealership said please give us time we are expecting more. I was getting impatient and for what ? It’s going to happen when it does and if we force it we’re gonna regret it and pay more.
Don’t give up be patient and keep connecting here…and wherever you can Be prepared to travel if need be and talk to multiple dealerships you be shocked how many people back out for whatever reason. I know a guy who was 5th on the list and got a car after others passed on it?

Ya the general manager wasn't too happy with my deal either. I wouldn't pay over MSRP if I were you, it's already plenty expensive

Saw this in the FL5/DE5 Whatsapp Group - Seems pretty clear to me, the rumoured of 546 units we were scheduled to get a few years ago was correct.

EDIT: I was just looking up FK8 build numbers, it's actually not that far off those numbers and it was in production for longer.

Where are the FK8 numbers found?

Just googled and found numbers here, sister CivicX site and reddit that all point to about 48K units worldwide over 5 years.

I'd be curious to see what the numbers actually break down to by country.

Canada got ~2900 FK8 AFAIK. The US gets 2.8x FL5s per capita vs Canada. Australia is 5.7x vs Canada.

It’s weird how they prioritize the Australian market compared to the UK market when comparing to population.

We get significantly less cars compared to the states, but the MSRP prices between the two are quite different as well with US MSRP significantly higher than ours.

The allocation between countries are probably profit driven to maximize return of the product
