Something

As I’ve understood it, dealerships should know how many they’re getting. Earlier this year, we had some people got their deposits returned because the dealership filled their allocations. I know a few of them have moved on to the Type S since then and received their cars.

Something seems fishy with the dealer… Do you know if it’s considered a large dealership?
Yes, apparently one of biggest in Western canada. They were bragging about that when I was talking deposits back when it was announced.

Other options,

ITS
EN
Golf R DCT, wouldn’t touch M
Golf GTI
Toyota 86, bit of risky purchase

Good idea. The one I have here is an MSRP + $800 extras that they apparently put on all cars like block heater, mats, tire insurance.
That all seems fair.

Like 惹Raizzelle said, I would wait till Spring/Summer, may even to the Fall to see what happens. The drops are random it seems, so it's hard to get an idea of when the next drop might be. We've been luck that news of drops from the port with potential FL5 have popped up and seem to be legit so there's that to go on.

Yes, that’s a very good deal to hold into. Prices are dropping too, so if you can hold and wait till next Spring/Summer. Used FL5 might be our next option. I know its hard tho, we’ll get there bro. ??

Some dealerships I heard are getting anywhere from 2-3 a year, and that's if you're a volume dealership with some history of selling the CTR in the past.

Apparently our Acura dealer in Wpg. (only one) only is getting 2 ITS a year for 3 yrs. The other cars are still great, but not as unique as the type R. I think I"d get a used mx-5 with the brembo/ recaro seat option, and save a bunch of money and still have fun. I also was looking at a used Mustang Shelby gt350 before prices went nuts during Covid.

Spoke with my Acura dealer yesterday and the next batch of ITS they are getting will by MY25 in the spring/summer so this buys me more time for *hopefully* my FL5. Once spring hits though it might be whichever car comes first at this rate.

That seems really low considering the ITS is made in the states. I think my dealership has already 7 cars this year and they're a small dealership.

Ya if you can wait I’d wait till end of production. I’d gladly wait for 2025 if I wasn’t getting one now. Waiting does suck though, especially when you don’t know if you’ll even get one.
My plan was if I didn’t get 24 CtR, I’d keep my deposit but also put a deposit on ITS 25. And if that didn’t work, I wouldn’t even need a deposit, I’d just get 25 EN.

Just gave them a call. Apparently it’s gonna be picked up today. The drops are really random, feels like more drops are coming to the smaller dealerships than the big ones here in LM. Thanks again! ??

No prob!

Yeah I noticed that too. That happened last year as well, lots of the small dealerships in Ontario got their allocations first. Had to wait till Late Winter and Spring/Summer for larger ones. Perhaps that’s a pattern we can use to determine when the next batch of cars is coming.

I know some guy on the Candian FL5/DE5 FaceBook group mentioned that "Honda doesn't sell FL5 models in during the winter season...."

There's potentially another shipment coming nearing the end of the month per @roastduck so we'll see if that reigns true. I don't personally, as my dealership received their first allocation in February.
