Canadian dealer asked what colour Type R I want

I thought the recent batch would be making its way East and someone here hopefully would have happy news to share.

Unfortunately no news from me either, last news still dates from end of Oct 2022 or so. Sales manager told me to expect it sometime between 2023 and 2025, so he rounded it to 2024.

For the record I'm first in line at a relatively small dealership outside Montreal, QC. I was told they're only getting 2 and I'm the first on their list that is (obviously) already fully booked.

I've also got a deposit on a GR86 Premium (MT), that also has no news whatsoever (other than somewhere around 6-10 months).

Its either I get the last of the ICE Type R with all the nice premium touches and practicality the FL5 has (at its appropriately premium price tag). Or I save myself $15k and get one of the last manual RWD ICE sports coupes. Whichever one comes first I think I'll be happy either way.

Not sure whats going on with Toyota.
Subaru is pumping out brz and they are sitting on lots in BC.
Same-ish for Civic si.
Hopefully they can increase production on gr86 soon.

Newroads Honda in Newmarket just got their 2nd R this week, which is already spoken for unfortunately. I dont think it's anyone on the board otherwise I feel like they might have posted, unless they were keeping it on the DL prior to locking in the deal.
They got their 1st late last Nov, no word on additional allocations.

yeah same here pretty quiet and no news still waiting for fall as promised.... never in my life i wanted summer to end so bad ???
just hoping 1st or 2nd week of sept i get a call that it landed...my dealer is small one in a small city and that's the only one they are getting which keeps me anxious and nervous if back office screws the dealer or the dealer screws me ?


i also read that BC port might be going on strike...like canada needed any more obstacles ??

Yeah, im with you, actual enthusiasts are already having a hard time without the flippers.

It's bad enough dealerships are flipping them via so called "auctions", but fuck all the buyers that are in it to flip it.

That boost blue one in richmond hill has been on AT forever, and then theres that recent rallye red one with 4k kms on it already for $70k+.

UPDATE: According to a friend who’s no.1 in St. Albert Honda, his allocation just got delivered today. He is going to pick it up tomorrow. I’ll be the next on list!

PS: Surprisingly, VIN is below 200.

I heard that boost blue is sold from a buddy who’s super close to the dealer. Lol oddly the listing has been up for a while. I may swing by to check this weekend.

I believe Canada is receiving 23 MY till late Summer because of the delays from shipment. Even the one from St Albert is low 200 VIN. Production wise, no news for the 24 MY, but I think imo if Canada will receive one earliest will be late Fall.
