I agreed with my dealer in writing to pay $5k over but they are all over the place. They wrote and scratched out $2k over MSRP and multiple times wouldn’t commit to anything under $5k over but seemed at least willing to deal. However, I bought my 22 Si from them at MSRP.

So my plan is to go there when my FL5 comes in since I’m first on their list and tell them I’ll agree to some accessories (I kind of like the red leather shift knob, want the all season floor and trunk mats, and maybe some others) plus some of their coverages (wheel and tire, maybe extended warranty) and dangle the Si trade-in over the deal in exchange for an MSRP purchase price.

Since I’m assuming this thing is gonna be right around $39,999, and despite likely appreciation over time, I’m happy enough with my Si to take my refundable deposit and walk if they won’t agree to my offer.

I at least want to get something for whatever above MSRP I end up paying. Ultimately, if Honda goes wild and charges above $40k, I may walk either way.

Backup plan, see what the 1.5L Si can do…

Above $40k, or above $50k?

Based on the price increase I saw for Japan, it seems like MSRP should be $39,999 in the US. I don’t really want to pay more than that… If I dumped $12k into my Si it’d be pretty rad in its own right so if Honda goes above $40k I may back out.

It is hard tho I’ve been drooling over this car since the 11th gen came out and people were rendering the CTR.

Ah, I misunderstood. I thought you meant if your local Honda dealer charges over $40, you're out. This makes more sense

Alright, so who's willing to pay the 10-20K mark up? I think my limit is 5K. I'm willing to wait, but I'm also ok tapping out if things don't settle lol

I did some guess work using my own logic and I agree with you. I think you are like looking at 39,9xx with a color add and $395 less without.

Yeah I don’t mind the extra for SGP if they get it for me. I saw in another thread it may be the only color with extra charge.

The only two colors without color add will be Black and Red.

Saw that in the Japanese interwebs.

That's like, double the price... Then again, the Cayman I'd be looking at would be at least 50% more, so ?‍♂

wife said i have up to a $100k budget and it's got to be the last vehicle...luckily i built a python green gts 4.0 that is $96,xxx.

i've been honda my whole life, so the ctr is a no-brainer for me. i've bought my itr which had always been a dream car of mine.

i need something with 4 doors that is fun, reliable and practical and nothing else on the market is as good, imo

if i got the cayman i would just need to buy a cheap daily to fit those needs though so i can still have that lol

Whoa is u! Many of us could only dream of a 100k budget. Really why r u even on the forum.
what does that even mean? lol...i have a large budget but i probably would never spend that. it's been a good year, business wise so i luckily have that option.

i've driven honda's my whole life, i prefer them to almost anything else on the road

i passed on an r33 gtr vspec for my itr
