Just got myself some Apex EC7 wheels for my type R. These will be used for track duty. Car is stock height still and will remain that way for now. Going to get some Hankook RS4 tires (want durability instead of best times, I have used RE71 and yes they are fantastic but I want something that will last longer for now).

I have 2 choice of tires, well I have 3. 265/35/18, 275/35/18 or 265/40/18. What should I go for? I am leaning towards the 275/35/18. Wheels are 9.5in wide so that is the max I would go on the wheels. Why and why not should I opt for the 275s?

My other question is which lug nuts should I get for these? I come from the bmw world where you get bolts or you can do a stud conversion and use a small open lug nut but seems like lug nuts for the civic and slightly longer and people prefer close end. What is a good lug nut brand? I want something good that will last but also don't want $250 spoon lugs. I was looking at monster lug nuts, are they any good? would they work fine on the apex wheels?

THank you!

I have 275, probably materially not a whole lot of difference between 275 or 265. I am just used to buying slightly pinched setup for autoX.
I am also not really one to spend a lot for lug nuts, actually last time I had to buy coned profile nuts I just bought them straight from Tire Rack for the lugnuts that they normally supply with their wheels. You usually have to call or chat with their agent but its way cheaper than most nuts you can but....

Thank you! Yeah I will probably just got the for the 275s, bonus is that they are lke $8 cheaper per tire lol.

I will check what kind of stuff tire rack has for lugs, that is where I am going to buy the tires anyways

FYI they are just plain, nickel plated nuts with tapered ends as opposed to the ball ends like the stock Honda ones.

I think I just use their live chat service and told them what I needed. If you let them know what car you have they will pick the right ones.

damn those are cheap ahah which is probably more than enough . Its one of those things though, not trying to break while I am on track so I am ok spending a little more but I do trust tire rack
