Hi Everyone, I recently Purchased a new 2025 Type R. Yesterday I did the first oil change at 900miles. In the process, I discovered a small oil puddle in the splash shield not much. I checked and found some oil drips on the Half axle shaft bearing. I Kept searching but couldn't find anything, finally this morning I looked from on top of the engine and found some oil stains around the steering rack. what do you think is going on here ?
Thanks in advance.

This happened to me and it was the valve cover. Very small leak that collected over time which made it hard to troubleshoot. I think if you inspect the passenger side rear corner of the valve cover you will see oil up there but probably not much and it's hard to get access to. If you have an inspection mirror or borescope it will help.

My car is a 2023 and I discovered oil collecting in similar locations to yours after my second oil change around ~4000 miles.

You should be able to easily rule out gear oil by smelling it.

Did you put lowering springs on? If so, you likely damaged the axle seal and are leaking oil from there.

If no lowering springs, the valve cover is known to leak on the FL5, so check around the valve cover.
I haven’t installed lowering springs car is stock. Thanks for the advice. I will
Look around the valve cover today when I get home.

This happed to me the next day I got my fl5. Barely 200 miles. Brought it back to them and they couldn’t figure out where it was in a timely matter so they just gave me another one. Let your dealer know for sure.

I was lucky enough to find my valve cover leaking in the rear and pooling around the head. Appointment for the dealer already made. I hate to take it to the dealer but also don't want them to void anything because I changed it myself.

Glad you found the leak. I am the same, hate to have the dealer touch my car.

Did you valve cover have a certain glaze on it? Mine always has a glaze on it and Im pretty sure its oil. Its been like that forever. I checked the sides today and some that there was some liquid deposit on the side.

I've done several track days and nothing is apparent so I figured that its still good.

Had a light sheen to it but I think that was from the dealer detailing the engine bay. I saw actual oil pooling on the head right by the rear of the valve cover to confirm it is definitely leaking. Looks to be slow but still not what I would expect for 15k miles
