Unless you are trying to race or do time attack in a class that the Si doesn't work well in, I would not hesitate to track one. There is an 11th gen Si in my area that put down a very respectable time at the local track with just some basic mods. Here is a link for inspiration.

Manual method is the way to go IMO, I've already done it twice. It adds like 2 extra minutes to the job. Not worth getting the scanner just for this unless you need/want it for other things too.
