I have owned my FL5 for 5 months, only put on 300 miles due to recent surgery. I got a call from my dealer that said, "getting close to bringing it in" for oil, fluids and wheel rotation, which is a no charge service. He said 7 months or 7500 miles. The mileage makes sense but the 7 months doesn't. Any comments?

You will collect as many positions on this as the day is long. BLUF: Follow the guidance set forth in the owner's manual on maintenance.

There is no longer a maintenance schedule in the owner’s manual. You will want to rely on the Maintenance Minder to determine when an oil change and regular maintenance is necessary. Under normal operating conditions, follow the Maintenance Minder and you'll be fine. That's my approach anyway, and I don't think twice about it.

Yep, I agree with @Clark_Kent. I’ll add that about the only time one would need to deviate from the maintenance minder (or minimum 1 yr oil change interval) is if you track your car and/or live in an especially dusty environment. Obviously these would not be considered “normal” operating conditions and I’m pretty sure the manual provides guidance with respect to excessive dust.

I received an email letting me know the same thing from the dealer I purchased it from. It’s just they keep record of it in their system of when you purchased it. My oil life was at like 40%. Definitely go by the maintenance minder as others have mentioned (unless you track it).
