Thanks so much for this! You helped me get the black one at Jeff Wyler. I really wanted black so this was perfect. I just put my deposit down and the sale price ended up being 51K.

I gotta disagree with this. Just because it's considered "next class up", doesn't necessarily make it more appealing for everyone. I was cross shopping the CTR with several cars in the "next tier up" - like the RS3, CT5-V Blackwing, and M3. Yes, all of those cars are more luxurious and more powerful. But the CTR has serious advantages compared to those cars as well - it's lighter, better driver feel, 6MT, more cargo space, more reliable, cheaper to maintain, etc. All of those things are very meaningful differences to many people.

Truth be told, I wouldn't trade my CTR for any of those cars, even as a straight up swap, despite the fact that they are in the "next class up".
I have to agree. I just got my new CTR last week, and it’s one of the best and most fun to drive cars I’ve had in a long time. Prior to the CTR I had a BMW M340i, M3, and Porsche Cayman S. Though very powerful, the BMWs were quite heavy and boring to drive. Not very engaging (my M3 was a 6MT too). The problem is that they have so much power and grip, you just can‘t have much fun on a daily basis, driving on normal streets, at close to legal speeds. And again, they are quite heavy. The Cayman S was great, and very much fun. But I had to give it up when I had a kid. The CTR reminds me most of the Cayman S. From how smooth the tranny is, to how similar the steering wheel feels (BMWs and a lot of “sporty” luxury cars have overly thick steering wheels), and just how similar it feels on the streets, even though it’s FWD vs RWD. The seating positing is very similar too - just great. I also like how basic it is - manual seats, physical buttons, no PDC, etc. BMW is just too much for me with all the screens and iDrive, etc. Just too complicated and expensive to repair, like most cars with a ton of electronics and bad design as well.

So yeah, I can afford expensive cars, and I chose the CTR. I paid $6k ADM, and it’s worth it to me. It’s a special car, and I can’t think of anything anyone else has that’s as special or fun to drive.

Totally agree. We are buying CTRs because we know what it is and we enjoy it for what it is.

The CTR will be the cheapest car in my fleet (really...it will be the cheapest car I've owned in a long time), but that doesn't mean it's not valuable to me. The value it brings me is the enjoyment it will provide while driving.

Just enjoy the car. Doesn't matter what "tier" it is. At the end of the day, the people who care about that stuff are out there buying high mileage/2 or 3 MY back BMWs/MBs/Porsches anyway.

Won't get it for much less than $57.5k OTD in South Florida
@AspecR-any word on Oregon or Washington getting any cars? Oregon got first wave, about 10 cars, and nothing since! At this point I may need to look out-of-state! Thanks!

We’re at the point now where quite a few places won’t be seeing anymore til the next model year. The big markets will continue to get but other places won’t see any. The dealer I got mine from isn’t getting another til next year.
