My dealership in California tells me the type R I have a deposit on is in Honolulu waiting for transport.
any truth to this?
thought they just came from Japan straight to CA port for US west coast dealers

Highly unlikely. Almost nothing into Hawaii comes shipped directly to Hawaii and nothing for the mainland gets transferred there. Part of the reason why the islands are so expensive is because all of their goods are sent to the west coast first then packed on boats for the islands. The port simply doesn't have the capacity or labor to handle the traffic. Even the stuff going into Hawaii all goes to Oahu and gets transferred to each individual island from there. That is the goal, they haven’t reached it yet, production is ramping upward but it will take some time to get there

Which city is it if you want to tell? I'm also on the Island. I thought reaching out to the Island would be easier then trying to find a dealer in the Lower Mainland.

Was hoping it would come in before this Friday because I have a track event at chuckwalla valley raceway and that would’ve been a great way to break it in! Still have a few more days but by the looks of what everyone is saying it may take a while.
I got mine from sierra honda in Monrovia CA.
