I agree, I'm all about transparency. You can't fault I guess anyone who's trying to make a quick buck, but that goes against my values in this situation and I'll do my best to not fall into this over MSRP trap :p

We have had the conversation of supply and demand . Its boring now. If its hondas intention to get cars into the hands of the true enthusiasts then MSRP should be paid great attention to. If its their intent to create a scarce commodity to be sold to the highest bider (i expect it is not), thats fine and at the same time will create great damage to the brand. This figures into dealerships. Thus why we call out all the huge markups. You see we will purchase many vehicles over our lives - the vehicles I buy will not be from them. Capitalism is great, the power of the consumer is to always be able to say ?. Greed and shadiness allows clarity into which dealers will survive the next 5 years - hint - it wont be those that charge huge mark ups!
Lmao! Am I boring you? Fucking hilarious.

The cars are literally numbered. Define scarce how you want to but it seems clear to me Honda wants thr vehicle to limited to some degree.

Manufactures never want dealers to sell over MSRP while representing Brand. It does negatively impact the brand. Guess what Honda does about it... Nothing. So apparently it isn't that high on their list of things to do. I think we can all agree.

Of course... all customer's talk such a big game now. I hear it in real life all the time. "I will never buy another Honda from them" but guess what... I am more than willing to bet that if that dealer is less expensive than the dealer that didn't gouge them... i bet they go right back. 2k off on an Accord or this MSRP from the place that shot you straight? I bet your talk of MSRP will go right out the window.

Guss what... Supply and Demand.

Many people have different interpretations of capitalism. I can't imagine one that doesn't deal in competition. Supply and Demand...

Throw your finger up if you want. If you don't buy it someone else will.

I'm not telling you it's right or wrong. It's that I understand it.

I was hoping the looming recession would cause the ADM craziness to end, but so far it doesn’t appear that way.

They are sitting on a shit ton of used cars they paid top price for that are being devalued daily. In essence they are hosed. Some of these markups are to make up for that and keep folks on the payroll. In two years time there will be a lot of consolidation and ultimately bankruptcy.

They are surviving now. Max pain has not hit yet but will create huge margin write downs and bank penalties now that demand has peaked.

unfortunately that means they will squeeze the last fruit that has juice - ie get margins where they can - cars like the type r.

I've sold vehicles for sometime. I've seen the ups and downs. Where I work we don't charge over MSRP. My only limitation is my supply. If I had more cars. I would make more money. "Too many" vehicles can impact that. We are millions of car sales a year away from Too many.

I don't know the future... I think that changes are all around us.

Electrification
Dealers understanding less supply is more per car
Manufacturers understanding less supply means less incentives
Markets growing in other places
Global inflation
Energy prices
Global tensions

Today is today... tomorrow is tomorrow.

Only thing I can promise is that as long as big money is in politics... The game is rigged and not for the majority.

Ya if this car is 45k usd so like 61k cad someone can have my #1 spot at my dealership lol. I'll drive you to the dealership myself.

If it's more than 52k cad MSRP I'm probably out.
What dealer you at I'll take your spot no problem. Lmao

Don’t forget the fact that Manufacturers are re branding their electric vehicles specifically to cut out the dealerships. Dealerships only have themselves to thank, however I do feel bad for the dealerships that are truly MSRP only.
