Orders open the 12th. Sometimes reps will give you a heads up on things. The only thing I've seen change are rates for certain vehicles.

I don't feel qualified to confirm or deny information someone else sees. There are so many reps, zones and districts. So I'm comfortable going toff Honda's past and that makes this seem unlikely. If it were the Type R LE... It's limited production may warrant such a thing.

So that doesn't move me one way or another.
Thanks for the update! You’re my inside man lol

So to clarify, if on the 12th dealers have a meeting about allocations, would that mean VINs or just, you’re getting 2, see you in 2 months…

that is when they will see what they're being allocated...so it is very possible we could see the first type r allocations/vins pop up

currently waiting on an hrv sport for the wife as well, hoping one is being allocated

I wouldn't call it a meeting. We have a network that Honda employees use for various things including ordering vehicles. The 12th of THIS month is when the orders open. Honda has not said that the Type R will be in this order. They also have not said that it wouldn't be. I myself am optimistic because if Honda is going to make it for the fall... With the vehicle being produced in Japan this feels like the last stop.

Tuhroo I have a hard time not seeing you getting a Honda HR-V sport. That seems to be the most prevalent trim they produce for us. That said I don't know if you are looking for a 2wd or 4wd. You are a Floridian, right?

2wd since no need for a 4wd here, that's what my wife wants. i get it at invoice at my dealership, however she wants a white one and we have got 10 so far (only 1 was white but an ex-l awd), but all have been sold same day.

Does all of this mean that Honda might release the official price to the public between now and Monday?

If, orders opened up with Type R available to order, would that reveal pricing?

…and even if allocations arrive, we are probably still a month to 2 out of actual vehicles arriving…if we’re lucky.

No, it'll be a little after.

What I'm unsure of is if they will announce it with '23 Honda Civic pricing or if they will send its pricing out exclusively. I suspect, exclusively since I think Canada has pricing on the '23 Civic but not the Type R.

They usually provide pricing when they are leaving the assembly line or in transit. Someone here mentioned the Detroit auto show. I could see Honda using that as an opportunity too just to keep itself in news.

Some places simply have decided not to take deposits and everything they get is FCFS.

My dealer has decided to stop taking deposits on the FL5 because we have 4 deposits after mine. At this point, if a salesperson has someone who is interested we are glad to take their information and keep them informed if something becomes available but there is next to no reason to take money from anyone anymore. Since we are an MSRP dealer, to the customer is of no consequence to give us a deposit and wait. However, to us, it's just an annoying accounting issue. Someone will eventually in a few months come looking for their deposit after they find a Type R somewhere else.
This is the most annoying part of taking deposits. My dealership has also stopped taking deposits on the FL5 for this reason.

I think I'm 1st and locked in at $10k over...but the email from the sales manager only said they took my none refundable deposit and I have reservation for the "in coming" 2023 type R. So even though English is my second language, I can still make out the email does not suggest $10k is locked in, nor am I the first on their list ...but I do have deposit.

I do have faith in my sales lady though, so I am hopeful I get a VIN before Xmas. :)
