^ I got lucky and locked in terms in writing with a deposit back in March/April. I think some have already done that - was reading a thread where people were doing that all the way back last fall. Hopefully it works that way for most on here.
The inconsistency of dealers really sucks. One person gets MSRP in writing a year before launch, another guy pays M2 Comp money.

Expecting Honda to manufacture the FL5 in HIGHER volume than the FK8 (before COVID and supply chain issues) seems like a pretty far-fetched idea right now.

Japanese manufacturers are super conservative and with rising interest rates why would you prioritize the most expensive model over cheaper Civics?

We are already seeing they have cranked out 450 in Japan minimum and going strong. ld say look to the car numbers on youtube vids for indicator (its fd up that we have to do that). If they straight up appease 2k in Japan out of the gates it seems to me the us will see the same minimum which would put production at half out of the gate. Id take that knowing things will improve and that the type r plant has not been i indicated as being on the cut back list - yet.

I'm willing to bet my house that FL5 will be max out @ 60% production of FK8 annually.

Realistically 50% is already a hailmarry.

Its complete BS and moreover price gauging should be put in as big of a spotlight as possible.

The UK Honda corporate event has just been held. Price has not been confirmed but physical cars were present. Those invited we're told the car would 'only be available in the hundreds over production lifecycle, not the thousands like before'.

Keeping everything crossed ?
Any other info from that event?

The restricted numbers in the UK will most likely be due to fleet emissions targets across all models.

Looks like Japan and US will get reasonable numbers.
Unsure on UK.
In Australia my dealer said that Honda Australia are saying "extremely limited in the first instance"...no idea what that means. 100 cars in 2023?
We will soon find out...but I just want the Oz price confirmed!

My dealer principle friend was there and he messaged me this - waiting to have a proper catch up. He seems to think global figures are limited, not just UK

They have tons of orders to fill before they can be building 10s of thousands of 1 model. They are going to be playing catch up for years.
It is pretty much understood & accepted in the industry that most manufacturers will never catch up - there are millions of vehicles missing from the roads. Forecast are 2024/2025 before supply problems are sorted, and that's if there isn't another regional or world event which is this day and age is more likely than ever.

Why are there no reviews by motor journalists if cars are out?! ?

How would that explain the posts seemingly showing pictures of customer cars?
Im sure a certain portion already had their orders in and Honda has clearly produced a good amount so far. I wonder if this is a late order, i.e not in line or preorder or at the tail end of the 2k or so initially requested. Honestly your guess is as good as mine - just theorizing.
