Who cares about all this - anyone know Japanese and can tell who that tuber is and what was really said?
I think the background detail is he is a dealer in Japan, the 4,000 number he originally thought was JDM domestic allocated units. He later said he found out his 4,000 global numbers that were provided to him by Honda HQ.

Honda is hit very hard by these issues supply chain issues.

I don't believe it to all be chips. I've seen equal trim levels and one get vehicle get delayed more than another. So could it be not enough supply of color or color of an interior part?

All guesses.

Honda is very committed to the Civic and Accord.

Rav4 is my area for the prime is on a 2 year waitlist lol. I wanted the prime, cause of EV rebates. Can't even get one if I was willing to pay markups.
Well electric cars are hot cause the gas prices. There is nothing on the civic that is rare that makes it hard to build. I for one believe there will be least 50k run or more. Honda will keep making them if they can sell them.

I'll be getting an EL1 that has an original production date of February. That is only one that was delayed that long but still...

The last two orders for dealers in the US. You couldn't order a Civic hatch. The only vehicle I've see where that happens twice back to back.

*breaths deeply.

I'm just going to be cool and wait for official N/A Honda info.

If its really only 4k units and if I truly have a chance at one... I'm not sure I'm willing to let it be my daily driver as I originally projected.
I agree. Might be a car you have to garage keep lol

Agreed, let’s wait for the official numbers. Hopefully Honda will provide updates soon.

And I’m not ashamed to admit that mine will be a garage queen regardless! Haha

Its been exactly 30 years since I purchased my first brand new car; a 1993 Civic EX sedan that was factory ordered with a manual transmission. There is a little bit of nostalgia that has crept up and influenced the decision to place my name on the list for an FL5, incidentally the 30th anniversary of the Type R. For a number of reasons, this Civic will be "special" to me, and will likely be treated as such; relegated only for weekend drives as a fair weather driver.

If I wanted a nice weather only garage queen I'd get a clean S2000. Not a practical 4 door hot hatch
Seriously hope its at least 4000 units per year globally.

Making their affordable "halo" car incredibly difficult and stressful to buy does the exact opposite effect a halo car should do IMO, it just feels like a big FU if this turns out to be true.
