Got an update for you guys, source has been reliable in the past but take it with a VERY big grain of salt.

Allegedly GMs and GSMs of Honda dealerships should have an idea of how many FL5s they’ll be allocated over the next coming week. Actual numbers won’t be verified officially until November. MSRP, previously unannounced specs and options go live after Media drives in Early November. Some dealerships will not receive an FL5. The dealerships that’ll receive the most FL5s are the ones that sold the most FK8s and consistently have the lowest turn around time for civics.

They expect to produce 4800 FL5s (Subject to change but that’s currently forecast) per year for the entire world with the US getting 50% of that.

In no particular order; here’s a list of dealerships that consistently shift the most metal
  • Paragon Honda
  • Norm Reeves Honda
  • Braman Honda
  • Rick Case Honda
  • DCH Paramus Honda
  • Kelly Honda
  • Roush Honda
  • First Texas Honda
  • Galpin Honda
  • Mohawk Honda
  • Honda of New Rochelle
  • Brickell Honda
  • Coral Springs Honda
  • Lindsay Honda
Not trying to throw shade but... This reads like an interpretation of old news. About a month or so ago..

It has been publicized that the "sales volume" is 400 per month in Japan.
Which is why you read about wait times in Japan being so long.

I saw no indication of production volume. 40-50% to US is really no different than FK8 I don't believe.

Knowing about FL5 allocation this coming week coincides with orders so that makes sense but I wouldn't take that as anything more than what this order allows.

FK8 were based on Civic turn as I mentioned before. That likely applies to dealers that are not massive. They will get theirs as they always do. Smaller dealers who sell over MSRP slowing their turn may be impacted but even that is just a guess.

I know you said take it as a grain of salt.

Guess it's going to be hard to be picky with colors if your on the list in fear of missing out on the fl5 at all. Is it typically easy for dealers to swap colors with nearby dealers?

I really want white but I'm thinking it might be better to take any color and look for a possible trade in for another fl5 in the future.

Same. Looks like I'll have to just take whatever I can get (if that even happens) and then worry about getting white later down the road.

"Hey, this is ABC dealership -- we have the new Civic Type..."
"I'LL TAKE IT I'LL BE THERE IN 2 MINUTES"

Do all of these assumptions, if true, regarding allocations being released this week, mean that it’s possible dealerships will have the information they need to begin allowing deposits? Aka would these allocations come with VINs? Or does this just mean they will be given a number? I have spoken with a few dealerships that claim they already know they are getting 1 or 2 or whatever…so that’s why I was curious?

I know what you mean and I’m wondering the same thing. I feel GSMs already had an idea if they were getting them months ago. Just super tight lipped about it. As the dealer I’m working with is saying the same thing about knowing they will get one for sure in the next coming months. Then you hear from others and it contradicts everything. Trust the process I guess.

Dealers can take or not take a deposit as they see fit. The one dude said they have like 30.

Honestly nothing has changed. Perhaps Monday is a different story.

So I’m guessing that means smaller dealerships who aren’t expected to get any of the initial batch won’t hear anything right? Not even when to expect a car in the future?

I’m just trying to figure out at what point dealerships (without deposits) will finally receive VINs, so I can attempt to get one. But guess it will literally be one second before the cars hit the lots.
