usually the higher quality japanese sound the best

spoon, hks, js, etc.
From what Ive heard from the brand names, they have been REALLY quiet and tone is just ok TBH.

And then you have Tomei which are always high-volume monsters lol (which I kinda like ). But might be too loud for my old age now.

95dB limit in Japan I do believe. Don't hold me to that.. So I'm guessing they are looking to comply.

Interesting to see this Type S might free things up a bit for people holding out for a Type R. I guess we'll know if there's any impact when CTR allocations start coming and customers have to s*** or get off the pot.

This is actually a good topic. Which exhausts for the FK8 have the best sound? Can’t stand the typical Honda raspy sound you get with most aftermarket exhausts.
Sequence manufacturing makes the best FK8 exhaust, its titanium and rather inexpensive for what you get.

Not bad at all. Not sure I’ll ever change the exhaust. How much difference does a Hondata tune make on these cars while they’re stock? I read somewhere 40-50hp. Is that true?

40-50hp is correct, you’ll get more if you have the right supporting mods

Only car I’ve ever done anything to is my WRX. I will probably keep the Type R as stock as possible. Keeping it to a minimum, what would you do to the Type R with the Hondata? Thinking maybe as little as just an intake?

93 octane tune w no mods saw 350-360whp on the fk8. I'll prob just get that and a nice titanium exhaust for the burbles and weight savings.

That's actually insane.

Where did you see that at?

I've moded and tuned every car I've ever owned. If I get the GRC and FL5 I'm not touching the ECM/ECU tune. Leaving that stock and opting for the longest possible extended warranty.

Will do bolts ons though and appearance parts that are removable/reversible.

Don't think I want to jeopardize either vehicles resale value.
