Eventually the price of Hondas are going to increase so much we will consider other options like Tesla, Lexus, BMW. Honda was a more affordable vehicle and its hard to say that anymore ?‍♂

People already are and have posted buying something else instead of paying the 60-72K these are selling for.

The highest confirmed sale so far is 72K. For that you could buy a very nice very low mile C6 Z06 (650HP/650TQ) or a very low mile BMW M3 CS.

true...but the z06 is not a practical car

although i love the m3 cs, it's not reliable and price of maintenance is crazy, some guy i saw had his adaptive led headlight unit go out and he said it was $7500 to replace which he was lucky it was under warranty

Agreed, but still 70K is putting it in the realm of cars that are twice the HP and would destroy it on a track as well.

The Z06 while only a 2 seater actually gets the same or better fuel mileage and its a decent daily.

The increase in price isn't exclusively a Honda thing.

The average new car price at one point last year was below $40,000. Which at the time was a record. The average price now is closer to $48,000.

It is true that Honda is one of the more impacted automakers by percentage, if not the most impacted. There really are only four trims of vehicles that cross $48,000 from Honda (Speaking in USD). So I'm sure that people paying ADM is impacting this number significantly.

I mean to be fair, that 72k purchase includes optional accessories and warranty - those aren't exclusive to a type r purchase
The accessories were way over priced and an extended warranty on a Civic is a joke. Especially 5K for one.

Either way, 72K for a car that even with the forged wheels and CF spoiler should have been 50K max OTD.

the accessories aren't bad, i mean it's a real carbon italian wing and forged wheels from a dealer

$5k for the warranty is pretty steep...should be about $2-2500 when buying the car new

Yeah, several people were charged 5K for the 100K mile warranty. Also, the forged wheels and wing are already available for order online much cheaper than the dealers are charging at the time or purchase of the car.

I see no reason to have an extended power train warranty on a Honda. I would take a warranty on the tires/wheels.

My buddy had the tire/wheel warranty on his 2017. Had 7 wheels and 6 tires replaced for free from pot holes bending them.

well the extended warranty isn't just powertrain, it's full, like an extension of the 3/36

so covers electrical, a/c, etc.

it's not a bad thing to have, trust me, i work for honda service

Maybe, I owned a FOB 2018 Si and FOB 2020 Type R. Driven hard they only needed oil changes and tires.

This is always the case with new enthusiast cars. ADMs are added because of the hype and there will always be people who will pay an exorbitant amount to have it before everyone else. It happens with the Supra, M3, Vette, et cetera. It even happens with other things like the PS5 for example.

Wait a few years to see what happens and if it doesn’t change there’s better cars for $60 or $70k. Also, the first MY are always the worst to buy as they will have the minor issues that will be fixed the following years.

i had a 2019 civic with about 40k have black death, compressor exploded and contaminated the whole system...would've been $6500 if he didn't have his extended warranty
