11th gen Glass Type

Are the 11th gens (FL5 specifically) fitted with any type of solar glass, or am I reliant on aftermarket tint to deal with UV/IR. It looks like the OEM supplier is Fuyao. My FL5 however, doesn't mention anything about solar or acoustic like the image below. Just says "laminated" . Makes sense to ditch acoustic glass for weight savings, but I'm surprised on the omission of solar protection in this day and age, especially with the $1800 price tag on the new oem windshield

You can thank the Federal Government for us not having solar glass in the USA. The automakers were all set to install this year's ago, but a Florida sheriff petitioned Washington DC and solar glass was banned. The reasoning had to do with reflectivity and the need for police to see into cars during traffic stops.

My Sport Touring has a solar glass windshield. More than likely it’s a difference on the different trims and as mentioned, weight savings for the FL5. I will say sometimes it feels like its not doing its job and I might still take it to a tint shop to add additional protection.

If you are looking for heat rejection and blocking UV rays, you will have to look to window tint.
