Is the rollout a disappointment? Are ADMs annoying? Sure, but it has not swayed my desire to purchase the car. It’s worth what people are willing to pay so I don’t blame dealerships for charging a premium.
I understand everyones perspective will be different based on their current life...
You can do it together. Typically I will PFF the front of my car and ceramic coat the rest. Some detailers will apply ceramic to PFF after installation but this is really a matter of preference and cost.
Agreed, I have had my last 4 cars ceramic coated. The most important part or step is the paint correction. On a new car a stage 1 paint correction is all that is needed before applying the ceramic coat. Just make sure to find a good detailer. Anyone can apply ceramic but the polishing or paint...
This is so very true. Most dealers I found at the $10k mark were just starting. By the time they added all their other special fees and the damn Honda Protection Package it was over $15k. Thankfully I found a dealer in Ohio that was straight $10k with no add-ons. I live in SC and there is a max...
Guess my dealer is (Honda Store Youngstown, OH) being conservative. I was told between 11/28-12/15. Guess it makes senses with a build date of 1 November. Probably work out great as my 22 Si is at body shop getting work done so timing may be perfect.
I spoke with the dealer and he confirmed its in transit but did not expect it before 28 November at the earliest, with 14 December being the latest ETA. I just don't want this to be some promised allocation that shows up in 6 months. If that's the case I will purchase elsewhere.
Thanks for your help. I did see it's now showing in transit on Hondas website again. The waiting is killing me!
I noticed that you have to select exact color on Hondas site or it won't show up. It only shows exact match with color. Think it defaults to black so just had to change.
Thanks, hate paying the premium but I want the car so not going to bitch. I'm willing to pay so it's worth it......took about 50 calls and several sales peeps with different stories on allocations, wait lists, ridiculous $30k ADM but in the end worth the work.
To me my time is worth more than the $1500. Not saying I like blowing money but by the the time I pay for flight, hotel, food, fuel it's pretty equal. Plus I don't want to put the car on the road until I get the PPF installed....500 mile drive with my car playing catch with rocks, no thanks! ?
Purchased a CW $55k OTD. Will spend another $1500 on shipping from Ohio to SC and $3500 on PPF (front end), ceramic coat and tint. Thankfully dealer did not try to add the Honda Protection Plan. Thankfully SC tax on vehicles is capped at $300 and I'm military and do not have to pay property tax...
