Toxic understeer? Not really. The 11th gen Si is very balanced and has very little understeer at slow speeds. Turn is great but but not awesome. To get the rear to step out a bit is a rear sway bar away in the stock suspension.
You are making some very broad stroke assumptions here. Have you driven a 10th and 11th gen Si back to back? Extra heft? The 11th gen Si is still under 3000 lbs and feels agile. The new Integra I'm sure is a great handling car but that is the car with the extra heft for the sake of creature...
I think the '22 Civic Si is a BETTER stock track day car out of the box than a stock '99 Civic Si was 20+ years ago. A set of pads, brake fluid and tires are all that is needed for DE track days. Relatively stiffly sprung suspension, LSD, 6 speed, and decent tires make a stock (sans pads and...
Great write up and comparison! I installed 10th gen Tein Tech H springs and do not like them. The conservative drop (~0.8 in) looks great but the springs are waaay too soft and lack the flat cornering characteristics of the stock springs. I also installed a CTR rear sway bar but the softer...
I disagree with most of this. Hondas have always been reliable and economical cars which were fun to drive and never about the overall numbers. My '22 Si carries this tradition being all of the above and Integras have always been a nicer Civic with a bit more power available with more features...
Thanks for the info!
The H-techs are Front 134 and Rear 162. BIG difference over OEM.
Just out of curiosity, where were you able to find the OEM spring rates?
Thanks!

I read the Car and Driver initial review of the Integra and came away glad I purchased my '22 Civic Si. For enthusiasts, you have to buy the A-Spec/Tech package for about $40k OTD, while my Si was a little over $30k. Leather seats, adjustable suspension, 120lbs MORE, and the A badge isn't worth...
Do you know what the stock spring rates are for the new Si? All I could find is that the rear springs are 54% stiffer than the Touring I believe. I've installed Tein "H" springs on mine and while I like the conservative drop, the spring rates are LOWER than stock and would not recommend. There's...
Long story short I recently put Tein H spec lowering springs on my '22 Si and like a fool, cut the outboard CV boot on the stupid lower control arm bracket during the process. I went to my local dealer where I bought the car and ordered a boot kit part number 44018-3k0-h00. I spent the better...
On a recent road trip my '22 Si's tach started fluctuating (bouncing) between 4k-5k rpms when I tried to disengage the cruise control with the button while the car is in motion. Actual engine rpms were in the normal 3k range for the speed I was going. Tapping the brakes did not seem to effect...
Just returned yesterday from a North Carolina Outer Banks trip and averaged 43.4 mpg mostly interstate and 55mph back roads. This is on a '22 Si w/ Hondata tune. Usually get 33-35 mpg around town with ~4000 miles on the odo.
Yeah thank you guys for putting thoughts into my head about visiting the Deals gap area. Never been to the 'Dragon but it's been a bucket list item for me. That and the Pacific Coast Highway have been two roads I would like to drive. Your testimonies have me looking at Google Maps! :)
75 mph @ 3k rpm doesn't seem too high to me. I had an ITR transmission in my '97 GSr and at 75 the engine would turn 4000 rpm and would make quite a bit of engine noise. The Si's FD seems about right and a down shift is not really necessary to accelerate whereas a drop from 5th to 4th was in my...
