Tomei single is definitely the lightest possible exhaust. Like others have said unless you plan on breaking world record powe numbers, a DP and tomei will be the most performance outside of a hood dump.
I would argue it isn't air flow, it's coolant and oil capacity that ultimately end up causing heat soak. For reference the AMG Cla 45 has triple the coolant capacity of the FL5.
It is highly unlikely anyone will have an oil related failure following manufacturer guidelines. Changing oil early is something that has been done by enthusiasts for a long time. I've never had a performance car burn oil, or have an oil related failure with my current oil change protocol.
How many miles were on the car when you took delivery? I'm an advocate for early changes and do 500 miles, 1500, then 5k intervals. A new car is ran through extremely short trips before its sold, gas station, inspection drive, moving around the lot etc,. That's a good enough reason for me to...
Tomie is titanium and the price of all the other stainless options, no front pipe but that can be done with a DP. The D is dual outlet, has some drone, but cruising it's silent.
I come from a long line of highly modified JDM cars. 15 Sti, custom turbo back, EL headers, tuned by Mike G, who now works for Cobb. 17 Nismo 370z, custom PPE race headers, Tomei, track prepped by Pete's European Customs in Pittsburgh. Dabbled in some AMGs and found my way back to JDM. I was...
Like others have said break in and a fluid change will help. The FL5 is the most finicky manual I've ever owner during break in(Sti, 370z nismo, Focus rs). After 2k miles and a fluid change to ravenol the shifts are ignorantly smooth.
What oil are you running? I'd be concerned about pressure at max load compared to idle when warm regardless. 0w20 I'm seeing 23psi but ambient is only 70s with oil temp being 180f
When purchasing something new that's why they give a warranty. My focus RS had the diff leak from the factory, 370z Nismo had a bum throw out bearing at 2k miles, AMG Cla 45 had an evap sensor fail at 10k miles, had to remove the gas tank, drop the rear axle. It will get fixed and the car will...
I take my Amg to the only Amg service center in Pennsylvania. As for my Type R I'll take it to PRL because they are only a 30 minute drive from my house. It's entirely possible a local dealer will have a quality service manager, advisor, and mechanic.
