I already had rotors and pads on order as of last week, which arrived tues. Anyway, last night, on the way to bible study, my son was sitting in the back seat and asked, "Dad, what's that noise?"

So ashamed, I decided to stay up this morning and bang the task out before work tonight. Took an hour by hand (includes me getting up to go find tools etc)

17mm
7mm allen socket
5mm allen socket
3/8 ratchet
E14 female socket (somehow i had it and it worked)
Impact Hammer

DFC Rotors + Akebono Pads

Day 6 - Update on the tires:
Loving them for the price point. Took that off ramp the other day, it was definitely more squirely than the toyos, Entries cannot be as hot. Got a bit more understeer, and I spun a lot more powering out of the corner. BUT, I must say they were responsive as heck. That I did like. I do feel they are predictable.

Toyo - tell me what to do and I'll execute
Atlas - set me up, and I'll execute

Day 12 - Update on the tires in wet conditions

SoCal has started to pour. As usual, the weather couldn’t be more bipolar.

The good news is these tires are performing very well in the wet. I’m honestly surprised at how good they’ve been overall, especially since the reviews I read said they were horrible in the rain. For some context, we’re getting about 2 inches of rain per hour, so it’s very wet out here.

Compared to the factory tires, these have better wet grip, but I do notice some wandering from road grooves (tire PSI and alignment could also be factors). I did confidently push it up to 85 mph. Didn't notice any drawbacks cornering in the wet, feels smooth and stable.

Braking does suffer a bit. It doesn’t have the same bite as it does in the dry, meaning it takes more effort to slow down. I do wonder if the new rear pads play a role in that? Most likely yes, even if it's ever so slightly. I can’t really confirm it, since I won’t be swapping back to the stock pads anytime soon.

This whole thread reads like an AI fever dream 😂

Any way, check your tire pressures and see if it is too high.

One other thing I'll tell you and everyone else, touch points. Your tires should be the best tires you can afford. I'd run ratty looking wheels with the best gripping tires such PS4S, rother than Grams ray lights 57 everyone has same wheel with cheap tires.

Grip monsters. That's what you need. Always.

Always bless up the lord for rain. Dont forget the Cali droughts your all had in 2016 or whatever.

Lastly that aint winter lol. Until youre going sideways kicking up roostertails of snow, you dont know winter.

I'm not crapping on your wheels. I meant generally guys spend thousands on wheels and go fast mods and get cheapest tires. All that is useless if you can't put power to thr ground. Grip all day.

Same goes for winter tires. A front or rwd car with proper winter tires out performs any awd/4wd in snow and ice.

I should have been clearer when I said "kill that nonsense," as it was addressing your tire spiel, "grip monsters." I literally made the switch from Toyo R888Rs to these impressive, CHEAP, Chinese tires.

Woke up earlier this afternoon to find a rather pleasing text from the service advisor. After their many failed in-house attempts to repair the wheels, I requested that they be completely redone or they could replace it with new ones.

New video, the outsourced PC "fix" looks promising.

not sure if I've shared this in the past, but here was the wheel damage. This was done to both driver side wheels.
