Likely a combo of all of the above, with a little reduction in profits since I am sure the roi for development costs of this one were realized in year 1 of production.
FWIW The price increase is just following inflation, not even really adjusting for the 15% tariff that Japanese imports now get. $42,896 in October 2022 is now $46,654
I don't but I am still on the OEM shocks/springs. If I go to a coilover set up they're who I am going with. I have more than a handful of friends running their coilovers on various platforms.
I stand corrected, I've been told wrong then. Regardless, no one in here knows the actual answer, and if someone does, they wouldn't risk leaking it. I am hopeful they are going to do a MY26 since we didn't get a special send off and as Honda's largest market for the CTR I'd expect one.
It can only be manufactured for 1 January 1st. So if you start it early, Like the 2026 Passport, it can't be made after 12/31/2026 for MY 2026. It works well in the case of a long model year run the following year after a launch or planned supply chain issues from parts delays. If 2027 is the...
Yes, and the 2027s of those models will have to start production in the factory before Jan 1, 2027 since they have been producing them early. Since Honda didn't start the 25s until later, they can push the launch of the 2026MY. With my background this leads me to believe there are some changes...
For a more track focused but budget friendly coilover I'd highly recommend looking at the Redshift Motorsports ones. Those guys are wizards at setting up fast FWD cars that ride as good as stock.
Why these are not '26s is likely due to the NHTSA rule a model year can only be produced on one January 1st. So if they have a long model year planned they could be delaying the start of it.
Can't wait to catch the closeout sale on them like I did the last RE71R. They were almost half off then, and since I mainly just autocross, they last a whole year if not longer. My FK8 (Backup car/daily) will be getting 71RS and the EST/T5/Sundae Cup Fit will be getting the new 71RZ to go on one...
