RV6 I.C. Compatible w/ PRL Charge Pipe Kit?

Per Jester's recommendation. I am looking into purchasing an RV6 tube/fin style intercooler for my FL5 in order to enhance airflow to the cooling stack of the vehicle while still providing increase intercooler volume and performance. I plan on getting a triple bypass radiator and dual oil cooler setup by WOT Performance in the future. I am curious about your thoughts on this because most of the aftermarket has gone with bar/plate design.

In addition, if I do decide to go with the RV6, does anyone know if the PRL charge pipe kit will be compatible without modification?

Sorry don’t know the answer to your question. But did Jester recommend the RV6 IC? Been looking for a decent intercooler and the RV6 seems like a good deal. Been looking to pair that with the RV6 downpipe and custom tune through Jester soon. Been running his conservative track tune on a stock car for over a year and been very happy with it.

Yes, Sir, he said it was the best compromise for performance and flow to the cooling stack. I suggested PRL intercooler, along with other bar/plate-designed ones, and he advised that no matter what, they hinder flow to the cooling stack.

makes sense. This may sound odd but what throws me off about the RV6 intercooler is the price. It’s so much cheaper than other tube and fin designed intercoolers that i wonder if there is a lack of quality there.
From all the research I’ve done they say bar and plate is better for street use and tube and fin is better for track use. I only street drive my car. The oem is tube and fin though so I’m thoroughly confused on what to go with

Our conversation centered on tuning and track usage. If you are only driving the car on the street and doing brief "hits", you will be fine with either one. Just understand that when you go to the track, you may see elevated temps during your hotlaps with OEM cooling in place.

Appreciate it. I’m looking to replace the oem intercooler before I get tuned by Jester. I highly doubt my car will ever see a track so just a pull here and there on the street.

The PRL Charge Pipes are compatible with the RV6 intercooler. I have the PRL charge pipes and just switched from PRL Intercooler to RV6 intercooler. Everything fit like a glove and how they should.

Outstanding! How do you like the setup? What other mods are you running? Power? Any intake charge temps recorded? Build quality on the parts? Any info is welcome.

It's a nice high quality intercooler. The PRL cools down temps better in regular street driving so far, but I switched to the RV6 for track use. I have all the FBO mods, Kuro+, fuel system, CSF Radiator, Acuity Reverse Flow hoses, WOT cooling panel, PRL charge pipes, Infinity Design Intake and Inlet. I have faith this intercooler will help get more air flow to the radiator and help keep temps down after extended track use vs the PRL bar and plate. I'm Jester tuned as well.
