I saw this over in the ITS subreddit and thought you folks might find this interesting. As always, take these rumours with a grain of healthy grain of salt.

“Marysville Honda/Acura R&D friend told me a few days ago:

• CTR will live on in US and JP until 12th gen Civic debut.
• Two exterior color replacements for '26 M/Y.
• Refreshes for CTR & ITS '27 M/Y (CTR gets heated seats, suspension tweaks).”

If the above is true, it would stand to reason that Canada will get 2 more years of FL5 inventory. Again, just a rumour for now

11th gen is being extended at least here in North America because of Trumps tariffs. Originally the 12th gen was suppose to begin manufacturing later this year in Mexico but those plans were scrapped. If that's the case, we'll probably see the 11th gen another year.

The Type R, built in Japan, cannot continue to be manufactured in Japan after Spring 2026 due to the emissions and sound laws in place. It doesn't make financial sense for Honda to continue building them (American tariffs are going to make it more expensive) or move manufacturing to Ohio or Indiana for another year or 2 of manufacturing. There wouldn't be enough time to tool up.

The fact that they've begun to do limited editions is an indication to me that we're still at the end of the line for the FL5.

Total luck of the draw, I managed to score a new '25 CW FL5 that's on the ship from Japan to Vancouver right now. MSRP + PDI, no options from a dealership in Eastern Canada :)

Super excited! Our tester cars have been great, but to have my own that will be accessible to us at all times is a blessing!

Congrats! Which dealership, if local I may be able to assist in some way.

Your probably right. The first 2025 we saw was in late November. Crazy to think they pumped out 10,000 units in roughly 6 months.
For what it is worth, mine arrived at the dealership in late October/early November 2024, #33790. but from what I have seen, the badge numbers aren't sequential.

Ya I'm pretty sure they are just grabbing from a container and installing them.

I think the red one at Newmarket has been advertised for a few weeks on FB marketplace.

Queensway Honda also received a red one as well. I'm supposed to be 2nd in line but who knows with the games that are being played. I only know they got one because I refresh their website daily.

I called my current insurer and previous insurer. Current wants +70% over my current vehicle, previous insurer is +100%.
That's crazy because I just called Queensway Honda to check-in as I've had a deposit with them for a while now and they told me I am second in line but they are offering it to the guy who is first in line with $5k options added and if he says no they will go down the list until someone says yes.

Such BS, when I put my deposit I said MSRP and the rep said yes MSRP...
