Yesterday, i went to big willow. Thr car count was suprisingly low, giving me the opportunity to drive with minimal traffic on boost weather. Here are some photos and video.

I don’t have specific technical data, but this concept is well-established in the automotive world. After my track sessions, I can feel the heat being released through the vents. Attached are images of the SpoonUSA FL5 hood. Most of my track car friends use a similar setup as well.

Hood Vents Theory:
High-Pressure Zone: When the car is in motion, air builds up at the front of the vehicle (near the radiator or hood). This creates a high-pressure area, especially in the engine bay, where heat accumulates.

Low-Pressure Zone: Certain areas, such as just above the hood or near the fenders (depending on design), experience lower air pressure due to the aerodynamic flow over the car.

Pressure Differential: Air naturally moves from areas of high pressure to areas of low pressure, creating airflow. This principle is harnessed to extract hot air from the engine bay.

Fender Vents:
Placement: Positioned on the sides of the front fenders, where high-pressure air inside the wheel well meets low-pressure air outside the car.
Function: Wheel wells can trap hot air and increase aerodynamic drag. Fender vents allow this hot, high-pressure air to escape into the lower-pressure zone outside the car, improving both cooling and airflow.
Additional Benefit: Lowering pressure in the wheel wells helps reduce aerodynamic lift and drag. I want to minimize front-end lift to maximize grip.

How It All Comes Together:
Engine Bay Heat Extraction: Heat from the radiator, turbocharger, and engine rises into the engine bay. Hood vents capitalize on low-pressure zones to draw this hot air out efficiently.

Wheel Well Venting: Air and heat trapped around the brakes, tires, and suspension are expelled through fender vents, keeping these components cooler.

Aerodynamic Synergy: Both types of vents reduce turbulence and improve overall aerodynamic efficiency, which can lead to better handling and higher speeds.

This month, I need to focus on customizing a front splitter, and I’ve already upgraded to the larger Paragon rear rotors. While I do have plans for more mods next year, I’m starting to think I should stop investing in this car and consider getting a new BMW M2, used M4 Comp or a used 911 instead. However, tracking those cars would be significantly more expensive, especially the 911, since the cost of consumables for an M2, m4 comp or a 911 is much higher compared to a Type R.

Here is the planned list of modifications for next year.:
