this is awesome, congrats! very impressive.

Thanks!

As for camera position yeah no real good place to put it, I put mine in the helmet on the right when I decide to record (usually get lazy and don't). You could put it on the roof light? 3M tape with a small arm might work
Ya, the roof right over the front seats is really my favorite spot (sunroof works well, but obviously not in this case), because I can put it right in line with my eyes but also keep it fixed so it's not moving all over the place as it would on the helmet.

I've tried a mount on the passenger seat but it vibrated too much and the angle wasn't great, I tried the PiP but I think it's too much to look at, and the rear window doesn't quite get the right angle.

I thought about trying the roof light but I wasn't sure how stable that would be - now that I have more time in the off season I'll probably play around a bit. If anyone has solved this though let me know! :)

I bought a ram mount for the front windshield. Never had a chance to try it this season. Some other forums recommended it for recording with phone vs GoPro.

I have few RAM mounts as well - they work well, but I'm really trying to get something where I can see the interior to watch for driver inputs along with having a clear view outside, so for something on the front window I'd need a pretty long boom to go back a few feet, and it would probably be hard to keep that stable.

That's a good point. Hard to tell what your hands are doing if you can't see them

Yes, definitely overkill for a camera. If you also wanted to use a 4 point harness for your TT, this would be useful.

I definitely wouldn't want a 4-pt standard harness on track - that's asking for trouble as you run the risk of submarining under the belt, and honestly that bar and the way it attaches looks a little suspicious to me to really trust in crash.

It’s not ideal for sure. Just have to brace against the door and dead pedal. Nothing is safe without a legit rollbar.

ahha yeah that bar looks super sketch. Id consider it for maybe auto cross but def not for a track day. I wish scrotch made a setup for our cars, 4 point ASM that was properly tested with our seats but no chance, there are too few type Rs to get it all tested and passed for little money. Half care is the only way id consider harnesses then but I would buy a dedicated track car before putting a cage on a 4 door

So, now that TT Nationals is over, my plan for the winter is to move up classes (with the primary focus being Street for Gridlife Time Attack) and therefore add more power and coilovers. Power is fairly straightforward but what is everyone running for coilovers? I can run up to 2-way adjustables, and traditionally I'd look at 2-way remotes from MCS, JRZ, etc, but man have those gotten spendy from what I remember from 5yrs ago. What is everyone's thoughts on something more in the $3k range - any good options (Ohlins, HKS Hipermax, other)?

I don't daily this car and honestly anything would probably be an upgrade from stock, but I want it to at least be livable and handle bumps/curbing on-track well (which honestly shouldn't be difficult with any of the higher end options).

Someone here was using Nitron R1s briefly before he moved on to tracking an M3 then M2. Hopefully he left some feedback on one of these pages…

Sorry to say, but you wouldn't stand a chance in GL Street the way it's structured and classed.

The top cars are 400 hp+ AWD Turbo swapped, engine built, caged and gutted "street" cars.

Same with Global Time Attack, enthusiast class has 500+ HP cars and that's supposed to be their street class.

If any of them started to split it based on drivetrain, then go for it, otherwise, it's just spending a lot of money for basically what are timed HPDE laps at that point, unless the top drivers don't show up
