Midwest; daily driver; which do you recommend? I had PSAS4, but I have 500 miles left on them. They weren’t bad…? Started to lose grip around 10,000 miles in to be honest.

Wanted to know what y’all thought other than “get some summer and winter tires.”

They are equivalent. Last I checked though, they don't make the A/S4 in OEM size (265/30/19).

I will take the opportunity to pile on though. If you can afford this car, you should be able to figure out how to keep summer tires on in the summer, and whatever tires you think are appropriate in the winter. I feel like all-seasons on this car neuters a lot of why you'd want this car over let's just say an Si. Especially if you think they're "losing grip" after 10k miles...

But a good volume of Porsche guys slap all-seasons on their 718s and 911s so I'll just shut up now. It's your car, your money.

Haha it’s still fun to drive. I’m just lazy. I am very low Maintenace type guy; the more work I have to do, the less I enjoy things. So even having to worry about changing out wheels/tires makes me annoyed. It’s my DD and I have one kid on the way and one that’s already a toddler. I enjoy having the car but it isn’t for crazy canyon driving or anything. Just go around turns quicker than the average driver. Def isn’t about price.

Also, I want this car over an Si for: the way better handling (even with all seasons), hatchback, the extra 150 hp it makes (tuned it), and LOVE how it looks overall.

Throwing PSAS4’s on my TE’s next Wednesday. Don’t drive my car too often but Chicago weather demands All Seasons at the very least.

Exactly. Put them on in the fall, take them off in the Spring. Personally I went with DWS06+ because they're all that's available for all-seasons in OEM sizes (or so I thought...). They're currently on the OEM wheels and will go back on the car in November because the PS4S are NOT fun to drive when it's below 30 degrees. I avoid driving in snow regardless so no point in winters.

But the year-round stuff for all seasons I just can't get with. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Why buy a sports car like this just to ruin it with all-seasons year round? The OEM PS4S are great tires for the street; arguably perfect. WHY are people ditching them? It makes no sense and that makes me angry.

The argument that they're "90% of the PS4S" or whatever is nonsense. First of all, they're not- you feel that difference IMMEDIATELY and it applies to literally everything about the driving experience. They're a great consolation for colder weather, that's it. Leaving them on all year is just doing yourself a disservice.

Ok I'm done.

I have previously always run separate sets on all of my cars. Recently purchased a set of 18” TE’s and didn’t want to buy ANOTHER set of Summers. I have Summers on my Evo and that’s the car I generally take out for fun. I don’t plan on driving the Type R in snow but I’ll probably daily it until then.

I took my car out in a snow storm and drive it in 100 degree weather lol. I have 17500 miles on the car after only having it about 11 months. Soooo yeah I daily. To each their own. It is kinda fun annoying optronix though ?.

On the same day though?

I'm just trying to do you a favor. You annoying me isn't serving any purpose other than reminding me that people for some reason get a kick out of pissing people off.

End of the day I'll finish typing this and stop thinking about it. You however will carry on content with the fact that you bought a $50k enthusiast car for "reasons" but still actively choose to do things to it that diminish the very thing you supposedly bought it for, while trolling the guy trying to convince you that things could be better. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

Seriously, what's holding you back from getting a dedicated set of tires for summer AND winter? Ask yourself that... especially when you're forking over thousands for a "tune" or whatever other performance options, while putting literally inferior-by-design tires on the car. You know, the only things actually connecting your car to the ground.

Make it make sense.

I wasn’t originally posting any of this to “annoy” you. But you seem very overtly passionate about this lol. I told you, most of the reason is I don’t making extra work for myself. But otherwise, I just moved into a house and realize the garage is way too small to the point where my damn garage cans don’t even fit in with the two cars, so room is an issue. Until I get around to building a second garage, room is limited considerably. Also, if you look at the reviews for the all seasons, they are all but a few tenths off summer tire track times. I am not tracking this car; for day to day use, the all seasons provide plenty of entertainment.

If you have stock wheels and stock suspension, can you do the PS4AS in 275/35/19? Speedometer would be off but I can have that fixed. Need to get some all seasons soon since this is now my only car.

We’re driving on the street....

You are not pushing your car on city streets to the point where the performance gains of the ps4s vs dws06+ becomes a factor.

For a track day 100% everyone should switch.
