Guess none of the dealerships in the GTA signed that waiver ?? jk..maybe lol.
Interesting that the email mentions Halifax port and not Vancouver, wouldn't it make sense for them to dock at VC since its most central to US and CA? Haven't there been sightings at the VC port?
That email was generated by chat gpt LOL jk.

I know this question might be answered already, but can people buy USDM CTR's and bring it back to Canada? But it'll just cost $ for import and etc.

I’d sign that in a heartbeat assuming the stealerships are going to sell at MSRP without forced add-ons.

It’s possible but hard and pricey. Depending on the state and mode of payment. If I’m not mistaken there is 1 BB for sale months ago which is not available color option in Canada.

Every FL5 has come through Vancouver as far as I’m aware

Ill would happily sign a waiver as I have no intention to flip
I thought the same thing but maybe it’s a two pronged approach? Since we don’t know how Honda is determining the what and when, maybe they’re trickling in from both sides of the country.

Same, I think what Porsche had in mind was that the buyer would lease the car from them for one year and then after that they would sell the car to them. Not sure how well that would work but it’s something

I think he thought Halifax based on the FK8 being shipped there and now FL5 come from VC because Japan

Yeah, I’d likely go with one of the lower taxed states, like Florida for example and get the 8 year warranty, which cover servicing on the car in both Canada and the US. Then there’s the taxes on Ontario (my province) to apply. By the end of it, you’re probably looking at 70-75K ballpark. And that’s assuming no markup

@onepointsix is probably right, there's a possibility that they're arriving at both ports. I'm just jaded by the broken telephone game being played across Honda/Corporate/Dealerships, everything's just a joke to me nowadays.

Albeit it's good to get any sort of information nowadays, so I appreciate you sharing!

I agree re the port of Halifax not making any sense. If they came through Halifax it would mean the cars would be shipped via sea from Japan to Europe first, then to Canada? Or maybe across pacific, through the Panama Canal, and then up the east coast? And as others have noted, last fall cars were spotted in Vancouver port before being shipped out.

Either way, the complete silence from Honda is frustrating for everyone. I was lucky to get a car last November in SW Ontario and I've literal not seen a single other FL5 on the road. I have no idea why Canada has received so few when there is clearly demand. I get that most people just want AWD SUVs, but there's enough of a market here to up shipments. And if they don't want to do it or can't, just say so - put out a brief PR statement, update on the website, etc...

They should also have the dealers sign a waiver not to force all the bullshit add-ons. I don't mind signing but this should start from the source as well. I have 5K in BS I don't want but was told take it or leave it

Have you had your FL5 already? Don’t worry you are not alone, I got 20k of BS to negotiate once my allocation arrives.

Coming from the people who got their FL5 already, price were around 60-70k straight from the dealership. Due to lack of info, I haven’t heard or seen someone picking up their FL5 at MSRP. Its either a trade-in with less than the market price value or with forced add-ons. Hopefully I’m wrong though or this changes in the future.

yeah i don't mind signing i told him send me the doc and i will flip it back because i have 0 intentions of re selling it, but then told me nothing further to do for now, sounded like that was a potential to sign the waiver ... that really doesn't matter to me the biggest thing is getting the car

I paid MSRP only. No add-ons of any sort. I did buy the 7 year tire and rim warranty through Honda, because I was only charged $249 for it.
