Canadian dealer asked what colour Type R I want

Im in same boat as you. Next in line for CTR no ETA. Next in line for ABP ITS no ETA. Getting pretty tired of waiting for either and I know once one comes the other will follow shortly....

My heart wants the CTR but head says go for the ITS. I dont think Ive ever been so torn in my life lol

Honestly dude, they really don't know anything at all which make the whole thing on both the ITS/CTR sides frustrating. Someone on the forum mentioned ABP should be coming out in August, but it's the end of August and nothing. I was told it was going to be Black and White for the initial run, yet someone in the GTA posted their White ITS next to an LCM ITS at the dealership. It's all over the place lol.

Did you get an ETA for your ITS?

I did, I should be picking up this weekend as it arrived on Monday and they’ll need to do pdi and the ceramic. The fact that they know nothing about the blue really kills it for me. The sales guy didn’t even give me my vin or updates until I went in last weekend. Partially the dealerships aren’t getting much info from hq and then there’s also the sales that might not be that good. Really sucks overall and the waiting is relentless. The overall experience of car buying is so shit in this market. I’m just going to grab the ITS and enjoy it and if i get called for a ctr, I’ll think about it then lol.

I spoke with a Honda dealer I put a deposit with previously and they even mentioned they didn’t receive a 2023 allocation yet but their order list is like 20+ in line. They don’t even know when they’ll get their first allocation.

I honestly just grabbed what was available first. That was plan anyways but didn’t expect the abp to not be available until god knows when. I just got tired of waiting especially for a ctr. Not as long as some people who put a deposit back in the very early stages but it’s been over a year waiting for a ctr for me now and almost a year for the ITS.

That's awesome news man, congrats! Super jelly, though I did have a chance to get a black one, I know I'm going to have some issues keeping it clean so I let it go. Judging by my limited time in an FL5, the power and overall refinement will be a revelation haha. Please share some delivery photos when you pick her up.

I think it was inevitable that this was going to happen. Those of us waiting a year plus with little communication are naturally going to look at other options, and in the Honda/Acura camp, the ITS is the next best option.

Yeah, that's why it's so hard to make a choice. Hands feel tied.

For sure man haha I’m stoked and will share when I take delivery. Sucks you had to pass on the black but hopefully either you get a ctr call next or the colour you want in the ITS. I do want to do mods like intercooler, intake, springs/coils, and wheels but I’m going to have to bench that until later on haha.

Dealerships need to go, I think car companies should provide a similar service to Genesis. I would gladly order my next car online.

I should of added I could of got a white or black ITS with the first batch but passed on both. Wont ever do a black car again and I think the ABP is a fantastic colour, also bought me some more time for CTR. I told my rep if Im dropping 65k on a car it better be in the colour I want

You know what really grinds my gears…no updates from the dealership or Honda Canada but there are 17 FL5’s for sale on Autotrader Canada; dunno about you guys but 17 cars for sale for a limited production car is a lot. The games these dealerships play.

I hear ya man. The heart has always dreamt of a Type R, not Type S, and I like the FL5’s looks a lot more both exterior and interior wise over the DE5. But not sure I could pass up an Apex Blue ITS next year if there’s still zero word from my Honda dealer.

I’m sure most of us are just waiting for the 24’s to arrive, hopefully October/November time frame. A bit of a detox from the forum helps with the anxiety haha. There’s a few ITS, all black, around the same price here in Ontario.

Was that "gunmetal" a launch colour for the ITS in CA? Cause if it wasn't than it its nice to see us getting more options!

I thought I had read somewhere that Black and White were all we were getting for launch.

Hoping we all hear some good news in the next few months RE '24 FL5s, but if we start getting more colour options for the ITS, I'd be happy with one in Performance Red or Apex Blue.

Yeah, that’s what my Acura guy told me as well. I’ve seen a few LCM pictured here in Ontario, which looks great, but it’s the Apex Blue I’d want most.

Personally, I wouldn’t mind a Boost Blue FL5 Type R lol.
