This is nuts. I’ve been reaching out to my Acura dealers and they’ve not alluded to limited production, not like I was thinking it’d be abundant. I’ve been told by one they’re getting 10-15 ITS cars in first delivery, whatever June date that is. Another hasn’t disclosed how many but has confirmed no allocation details have been released yet as per their Acura district manager. Lol not like I’m believing anyone until I see a paper with my name on it but still, the amount of inconsistent info is real
" I’ve been told by one they’re getting 10-15 ITS cars in first delivery, " Dealerships arent even getting Civic SI's at those volumes LOL.

Whoever told you this is a complete dumbass and all details provided by this person should be ignored going forward.

The assumption that the ITS will be more plentiful than FL5 because it's made in USA is incorrect.

The ITS shares majority of its components with the FL5 which they cannot make enough of the required parts to service the demand.

TLX doesn't share any major components with another high demand Honda product. So they can pump that out if they want.

If you assume Honda is limited in its ability to product FL5 parts, you can assume regardless how well the ITS sells they won't be able to make enough quickly.

I guess it comes down to if you believe the FL5 production is limited at will or limited by production.
The limited FL5 thing is more like a Canada thing. When most of the country offer ALL COLOR, Canada is the only country that offer 3 colors only.
Also, recently YouTuber from China showed that their first batch is 400+ car and their next batch is coming in a month with 300-400+ car

In the states, you can easily find FL5 sitting somewhere in the 48 States, but with mark-up from 5k-30k.

In Japan, Japanese YouTuber original stated the wait time is 2 years and they've received their FL5 in 8 months.

Cars as a % of population matters in this example. You cant simply use volume of cars without factoring in total population / dealerships within XYZ country. 400 first batch in China with 1.45 BILLION people is NOTHING.

If you look on Autotrader you can easily buy a FL5 @ $75K - $80K CAD also.

The population matters, but small city like Hong Kong 7M population have allocated a couple hundreds of cars VS Canada 550 car doesn’t make sense.

Also, we still can’t explain why Canada only have 3 colors. UK AUS US CHINA THAI NZ etc they all have all colors available

AutoTrader only have 1 SGP available for the past couple months
The blue one is imported from the states
And two white & one red pop up recently, within a week.

Honestly it does feel like Canada is getting shafted when it comes to car allocations.

In the FT86 forums a lot of Canadians have been waiting 1-2 years for a GR86.

I'm seeing 6 on AT available for sale and another one in kijiji.

Hong Kong geographically makes sense to have more based on it being a huge Asian financial hub. Hong Kong is one of the richest cities in the world and Hondas/Type Rs sell extremely well there, they have a much more fanatic following there vs. In Canada.

https://www.henleyglobal.com/publications/wealthiest-cities/global-insights/top-10-wealthiest-cities-world-2023#:~:text=Hong Kong is home to,businesspeople still basing themselves there.

Everything makes sense to me IMO. If you compare FL5 allocations to like AUS, NZ, Latin America etc, Canada is pretty similar ratio to population wise (if not better). I think Portugal got 1 on release, if I'm not mistaken via news lol.

Let me provide some clarity on ITS availability for Canada. The ITS will be limited production but not in the same way that the FL5 is. The FL5 will be limited on purpose, the ITS is limited by production capacity. The factory in Ohio where it is made produces quite a few other models and all their variants. The ITS and TLX-S go through a slightly different manufacturing process which limits how many can be pumped out at any given time period.

There will definitely be more ITS available than FL5s but production will take time to ramp up. The initial reservations are only for the first 200 cars in the US, Canada has an even smaller number than that (unsure about how many that will be).

Canada is getting the short end of the stick and y'all have Audi and the Koreans to thank for that. Honda/Acura's market in Canada is being continuously eroded by those companies(Honda's fault).

With a msrp out of the door of 58k, not sure it will be an all out fight to get this car… it’s still a civic.. I honestly don’t see a 6250$ jump in value over an FL5…

It's also the same price if not higher than an S3.... and I can walk into an Audi dealership and grab one now if I want. Frustrating.

Priced much better than down south, but I dont see the extra being worth it either. Really hoping I can snag an FL5 instead, willing to wait.
100% better pricing than down south… the pricing in the USA is ridiculous !! But still, i’m pretty sure it won’t sell as crazy fast as people might think with the economy Of course first year will be good but I don’t know… 58k for a FWD civic in Canada… I know for sure I won’t see a lot of them in Quebec with our winters and all.

Exactly my sentiment as well.
Priced reasonably, but extra features will only appeal to some people.

You're assuming you can get the FL5 at MSRP (if at all).....If that were the case considering the ITS wouldn't even be a thing IMO.
