Unfortunately here in SoCal the dealers I have tried are smoking the silly stuff with their ADMs and trying to claim "After speaking with corporate they want atleast a $25k mark up on this one". I just laugh for a few seconds and hang up. How unfortunate that they do this to people that really want the car but kill it with these crazy mark ups.

Exercising patience is the play here. These dealers will not want to sit on these cars.

Out of sheer boredom, I called a couple dealerships and 1 guy straight up told me, I’m too early pricing hasn’t been released yet ??‍♂ another one told me, they don’t have deposits on their 2nd Type R(but I already confirmed their second has 6 deposits on it with my ppl)

As soon as I got off the phone, I was like “this is exactly why ppl hate salesmen” ??

My dealer told me today that it's going to be another 3 months for their allocation and I'm #1 in line. They are a smaller dealer but it seriously has me considering alternatives as the ADM I agreed to is what I could walk into another dealer and get it for.

3 months from now is an eternity and the market/economy could be completely different by then. I'm fine paying ADM but not if it's going to mean waiting significantly longer for rates to continue to increase and markups to potentially drop lower.

Its pretty bad. Another example is im fourth in line at one area dealer and asked him to confirm - put the phone down, came back 20 seconds later and said no I was not on the list and tries to sell me on an si - then i told him about the text i had from the other sales person that agreed to my placement and he quickly hung up. Ass hats.

Higher interest with half the current adm's is a waaay better deal. If you can get it for 3 or 5k over w slightly higher rates vs 10-15k w current rates. 2 or 3 pct interest increase isnt going to make a 8-12k difference like a lower adm would.

Did you place any deposit or just text with the salesman that your fourth in line??

cause this also happen to me I was screw over by the sale associate that I was 3 in line and I confirm today was never really a list that he put me on was all bullshit so I asked to talk to the new car manager he said there is a list and 12 people on the list with 1k deposit already. He said if any conversation with sale associate in email/text/phone it doesn’t matter they can tell you that your # XX in line to be officially you need to place a deposit to be in line.At least for this dealer that’s their process.
