This thought also crossed my mind. It would suck to see this in the closet or dresser, which would only serve as a painful reminder of a car that I couldn't obtain.

You don't understand that even the cars Honda lets us request (once per month(August 15th)) in August are allocations in Sepember and don't have build dates until October/November and once they're built they take 30-45 days to get here assuming they're built in the continental United States

So Honda dealers can receive an allocation for a US built car that is over 3 months out from delivery? Whew, I'm not sure if that's a blessing or a curse haha.

Sorry if this was touched on already in this thread, but you mention Honda has a system that "lets us request." Do you know whether placing a request for a given car/color etc has any bearing on whether Honda will allocate that car directly to a given dealership? Might sound like a stupid question but.. this is coming from someone who waited 9 months to finally get a GR86 allocation and sorta learned the hard way that the existence of a dealer request has no bearing on whether that dealer will ever receive an allocation directly from Toyota.

Honda dealers have the ability to request certain things. It is no guarantee.
