Civic Type R HRC Concept

Based on Civic Type R, which was developed in the pursuit of “ultimate pure sports performance,” the Civic Type R HRC Concept is being developed by incorporating HRC technologies and the expertise of its racing drivers. This HRC-spec concept model offers a further refined “joy of driving” unique to Honda honed at the forefront of racing environments.

Looks like the Type R HRC Concept is the racecar that has been raced on the Super Taikyu series in Japan since mid 2025, in some ways similar to the TCR racecar but different since it needs to comply with the rules pertaining Super Taikyu.

So wonder if the car that will be on display will be the full on racecar or a track specific road legal version of the car.

Civic Type R HRC Concept:

The world premiere of a Civic Type R-based concept model developed by Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), the global racing arm of Honda. Incorporating its expertise in motorsports activities, HRC further refined the driving performance of Civic Type R developed with the goal of achieving the “ultimate pure sports performance.”

So makes me wonder if it is going to be a one off like the Acura Type S HRC Concept.

Racing machines on display

The Honda booth exhibit will include the Honda HRC Prelude-GT, an all-new GT500 machine which is scheduled to compete in the Super GT 2026 Series, as well as a racing simulator dedicated to e-motorsports, developed using the actual NSX-GT, which competed in the Super GT Series until the 2019 season.

Probably just a regular type r with all the new HRC branded parts that came out at SEMA. Would love to be wrong and see a cool one off. Maybe a bit of a body kit of some sort.

That's basically what it is, a Type-R with Acuity and RV6 parts on it.

The video I just watched showed a very potent AWD Type R on a ralley stage test track..Sign me up !! I need one of those just to get from the one lane paved road to my house on my 1 mile long dirt driveway.!!!!!

In the youtube presentation there was a mention that there will be a version of the Civic Type R HRC Concept car that will be sold as a complete car in Japan. (Type R HRC mention starts at timestamp 4:38)

Also an additional interesting tidbit was mentioned in the presentation (timestamp 6:51), Honda Japan is considering importing the Integra Type S to Japan, dependent on the amount of interest.
