I've been a longtime member of this forum and have started developing some products for the FL5 and other vehicles under the brand @STRIX Auto. I have a few things in the works but the first product is a replacement hardware kit for the popular Project Aero front lip.
I'm a huge fan of this lip but like many others I struggled to install it with the provided hardware. Stacking a washer and a Nyloc nut between the bumper skin was nearly impossible and after cross-threading two of the fasteners I knew there had to be a better way. I was also not satisfied with the zinc plated hardware which can rust in automotive applications.
This hardware kit makes installation easy and more secure using specialized fasteners. You DO NOT need to remove your front bumper to install the lip using this kit. This eliminates any sagging or shifting of the lip using their included hardware.
The fastener material is stainless steel compared to the included zinc plated steel.
Includes:
2x M6 x 40mm Black Bolts, Washers, and Nyloc Nuts
8x M6 x 30mm Black Bolts + Washers and Nyloc Nuts
6x M6 Low Profile Bumper Nuts (Street Mounting)
6x Washers and Nyloc Nuts (Track Mounting)
1x Low Profile Wrench
1x Loctite Single Use Pack (243 Blue)
12/10/25 Update: Hardware was changed to black stainless bolts (coated per military spec MIL-DTL-13924) for a clean stealth appearance. Kit now includes extra nuts/washers for optional Track Mounting (through the entire inner bumper structure) to match PA version 2.0 instructions. Black color will fade slightly to matte black/gunmetal color when exposed to the elements.
Note: We are not affiliated with Project Aero but do recommend their FL5 front lip splitter. The fitment, style, and quality is good. Although their lip comes unpainted, the lip shown in photos has been painted factory Berlina Black.
