Ok , so I have fallen victim to having my oem rims scratched when getting new tires mounted . I told them they were reverse mount and needed a special machine , they assured me I was fine and they would take extra precautions. I didn’t notice it when I left as the car was dirty but after a wash I can see some scratching around the other lips . It’s not really into the paint. I’ll post some images . 3 of the 4 rims have some marks . Now they are offering to have them fixed by there rim repair and said they charge $125 a wheel or I have the option for a refund in that amount ? Will a little scratch remover destroy the matte black wheels ? Google search shows it shouldn’t be used . Any advice ? Maybe touch it up myself .

The paint is entirely gone, scratch remover won't hurt anything but it also won't fix anything. That needs to be repaired and the shop should take accountability. Scratch remover is for swirl marks and surface level things.

They are going to take accountability . They offered to have it repaired and said there guy charges $125 per wheel and they would handle it but I am thinking of just taking the $125 x 3 wheels and having it fixed myself after winter .

I recently used T-Cut on my FL5 rims (cautiously) - the patch you rub will go glossy before any surface scratch disappears. You can buy touch up paint for Honda satin back rims, but that will probably look a bit lumpy unless you are expert with a brush. Weirdly, a permanent black paint marker does a decent job. But if the garage are offering a proper repair...

Take the $375 and buy a permanent marker pen. Apply a couple layers with the pen if possible.
What’s done is done, unfortunately, and they can pay a repair person 375 but results may be iffy. Never use that tire shop as they don’t know what they’re doing, and don’t know how to stop after scarring up the first rim. I guess practice makes perfect but damn!!

edit: also Tamiya makes paint pens that you could buy at a local hobby shop or craft store like Michael’s. They would work for the touchup too, and would be real paint instead of ink.
