Yesterday, I went to the track and disabled the VSA by pressing the button, and the dashboard showed it was off, but it didn’t seem to work. The rear still wouldn’t slide. Am I missing something?

Also, in R mode, I tried left-foot braking, but the car wouldn’t hold the revs and felt like it lost power. Is this normal? Has anyone else tried left-foot braking in their Type R.

I think pedal dance is needed to fully disable vsa and brake vectoring

Pedal dance is needed in the ITS.

In the CTR a long button press will disable stability control but you have to be in +R. In the other modes it's not fully disabled.

Yeah, I was in +R mode when I tried to disable the VSA (which required a long press). However, once I started driving, I could feel that the car would correct the rear rather than oversteering. I was hoping it would oversteer and the LSD would take over, but instead, the rear brakes kicked in and straightened the car.

I don't know why you have issue with VSC defeat in +R, but as far as left foot braking goes these cars can't actually have overlap brake/throttle input stock, it pulls power when you are braking and on power at the same time even in VSC off. In FK8 at least pedal dance actually removes that restriction. I am assuming FL5 does the same.

In autoX at least without the brake torque vectoring the car loses a lot of turn-in and also puts down power worse on corner exit so I don't use pedal dance normally. I think for track some recommend pedal dance because it makes the brakes less likely to overheat.

Usually, you need tuning to disable "brake plausibility check"

Was the VSA off after the long press? I did notice a lot more of the rear allowed to get sideways before intervention with +R/VSA off, but it's over dampened so I don't use +R

Also something else to mention, if your TPMS light is on I think you won't be able to disable VSA.

You need a custom tune that does not use Hondata. I think we can work something out trough Jester but since I can work with him remotely
